The early morning sun filtered through the curtains of Savi's bedroom, casting soft shadows on the walls. She sat on the edge of her bed, her thoughts swirling like the steam rising from her cup of chai. Last night had been tumultuous; the argument with Rajat echoed in her mind, making her stomach churn. They had spent too much time tiptoeing around their feelings, afraid to confront the tough conversations. Now, they have reached a breaking point.
As she sipped her tea, memories of their shared laughter, deep conversations, and tender moments played like a highlight reel in her mind. She thought about the way he had looked at her, the worry in his eyes when she had pulled away. The fear of losing him gripped her heart tightly, reminding her of her past—a time when she had let go of love because of her insecurities.
She took a deep breath, realizing that she had to face her fears. Love wasn't about perfect timing or avoiding conflict; it was about showing up for each other, even in the messiness of life. Savi had to reach out, to let him know how much he meant to her.
After getting dressed, she quickly prepared herself for the day ahead. She decided to meet Rajat at his office, hoping to clear the air. With her heart pounding, she grabbed her bag and headed out the door.
When she arrived at Rajat's sleek office building, her nerves began to flutter. Would he be receptive? What if he was still upset? She took a deep breath and made her way to the reception desk.
"Hi, I'm here to see Rajat Thakkar," she said, trying to sound more confident than she felt.
The receptionist smiled warmly. "Of course! He's expecting you. Go right up to the fifth floor."
As she stepped into the elevator, Savi felt a mix of anxiety and determination. This conversation was necessary, and she needed to be brave. The doors opened with a soft ding, and she stepped out into the modern office space filled with sleek designs and vibrant artwork.
"Hey, Savi!" Riya, Rajat's PA, greeted her as she walked past the workspace. "Rajat's in a meeting, but he should be done shortly."
"Thanks, Riya," Savi replied, her heart racing. She glanced around, her eyes landing on a large window that overlooked the bustling city below. For a moment, she lost herself in the view, hoping that clarity would wash over her.
Just then, Rajat emerged from a conference room, a stack of files in hand. He looked up and their eyes met. The moment felt electric, but the tension lingered between them. He approached her, his expression softening as he set the files down.
"Savi," he said, his voice hesitant. "I didn't expect to see you here."
"I wanted to talk," she said, her heart pounding. "Can we... can we step outside for a moment?"
He nodded, leading her to a quieter corner of the office. Once they were away from prying eyes, Savi turned to face him, her heart racing.
"Rajat, I'm really sorry for how I acted last night," she began, her voice steady but soft. "I shouldn't have pushed you away. I was scared, and I let my fears take over."
"I get it," Rajat replied, running a hand through his hair. "I've been so focused on my project and my plans for Paris that I didn't consider how it affected you. I need to be more understanding."
Savi felt a wave of relief wash over her at his admission. "It's not just you. I realize now that I've been afraid of losing you—afraid of what distance might mean for us. But I also understand that we have our own dreams to chase."
He stepped closer, his gaze intense. "I don't want to hold you back from anything you want to achieve, Savi. Your startup is so important to you, and I respect that."
