Hi, this might be the last chapter of this story for a bit since I plan to do a spin off story of this one for the new year in 2025. I just hope I can have all the support to help me write it since next year I don't want any kind of pressure when it comes to either writing fanfics or watching new tv shows. But hope you all enjoy!
....
Brooklyn opened his eyes the next sunset, feeling rather weak from after being nearly drugged by Vertigo but his body was getting significantly better. Elisa showed up that early evening to check on him. "Hello, Brooklyn. How are you?" She asked, Brook smiling back at her, sitting up and stretching weakly.
"Better, I'm hoping I'll be even more so when getting my gargoyle form back. How is Puck gonna do that though since it is Alex who did this to me and Elsa?" He asked. But then Elisa reminded him of how Puck explained the spell.
"Did you forget that it wears off after midnight tonight?" She asked with a little giggle, lightly punching Brooklyn who feels rather warm in his cheeks from that, laughing in embarrassment.
"Kinda forgot I suppose. Should my clan and Elsa be waking up soon?" Brook asked next. Elisa nods, taking Brooklyn's hand and ensuring he could walk first before eventually leading him over to the parapets where he spotted his wife asleep in stone still along with the rest of the clan, leaning against the wall near the entrance to wait for them to wake up.
Soon, the sun went down and the stone skin cracked; Goliath waking first with his usual roar and stretching of muscles, followed by his other two brothers and Hudson who also did their usual stretches. And then Elsa was last, her eyes glowing red, screeching next to Angela.
Elsa looked around to see her love, smiling and running to hug him, her eyes watery. "Oh, I'm so glad you're ok my love!" She said shakily, Brooklyn giving her a kiss on her beak, still anxious for their original forms to return. "And I'm looking forward to see you back as your beautiful human self."
The two snuggled for a bit until Goliath caught their attention. "It is at midnight, you're a gargoyle again, right Brooklyn?"
Brooklyn nods, getting rather tired of his human body and longing to glide again on his own. But then he turned to Elsa. "Maybe we can glide together in our opposite forms until the time comes. How about it?" He asked Elsa who was rather unsure about all that.
"I don't know. I don't want the Quarrymen to get us again and kill you." She said in a scared voice, Brooklyn taking Elsa's hand gently. "It'll be alright. We're only going to Central Park for a while, and I also wanted to show you some place reminiscent to our kind." He murmured, recalling that place called the Cloisters.
Hudson smiled at the young couple. "Go on then. Have some fun before your transformation. We'll be home waitin' fer ya."
Brooklyn bows his head at his elder, Elsa allowing Brooklyn to climb on her back. He held on as tight as he could as Elsa took off into the night, having gotten quite used to her wings but she really wanted to be back as a human again. The two took a scenic glide over New York, Elsa marveling at everything like she usually did until eventually arriving at Central Park.
Upon landing, Elsa and Brooklyn sat together by the pond on a bench, happy that at the moment there weren't any muggers around, holding hands and just enjoying being together. "Elsa, it was wonderful showing you how to glide. But it'll be nice when I can carry you again my love." He said, his forehead pressed against hers.
The ice queen nods, her taloned hands wrapped around his shoulders. "I am much happier being a human too, I realize. My gargoyle body was great, though I just handle my ice magic better in my old form. But Brook, I-I kind of been having some thoughts."
