~The Aftermath~

"Nat, I know you don't want to hear this but it looks like she..."

"No Steve...I want to check for myself." Nat says sorting through more names. Natasha and Steve had been trying to find Ivory in the database to figure out what happened to the girl while they had been in battle.

For hours Steve and Natasha tried to search and check to see if any updates had come through the worldwide census being taken post snap, but they weren't having any luck.

Natasha had still held onto some kind of hope that Ivory was somehow still in Wakanda....she refused to accept that Ivory may have been dusted.

Back in Wakanda, Okoye had been leading a search to try and find the missing girl, but they weren't having any luck on their end either. Okoye speculated that the girl disappeared along with Shuri during the snap, but Nat refused to believe that was true unless she found out for herself.

"Okoye would have checked in if they found her but she hasn't..." Nat says trying to keep it together. "I just need to know if she's alright..."

"Let's just keep trying to find her in the database somewhere..." Steve sighs. "I think I figured out why we've been having such a hard time finding her...she's not technically from the United States, She's from Romania..."

"Damn it Steve you're right...and because she was abandoned I don't know if she has any real birth records...I mean...she has to but..."

"...But it's going to be difficult to land a last name..." Steve says.

"Here let me help..." Rhodes says opening up a more broad search engine.

"Full name?" He asks.

"Ivory Lee...Bucky gave her his last name but again, we won't know until-"

"Found her..." Rhodes says sighing. "She comes up as Ivory Lee-Cristian."

Nat's entire heart sank when she saw Ivory's baby picture from when she lived in Romania. The only picture on file in the database was a side by side missing poster of Ivory the last time she was seen before she was abandoned, and a photo of her that was taken when she was in custody of German special forces.

It did something to Nat to physically see Ivory's face on a missing child poster.

"I'm so sorry Nat..." Steve whispers wrapping an arm around Natasha.

"You know the last time we saw her...we told her we'd be back for her..."

"And the last place she was...was in that lab where Vision got attacked..." Natasha said briefly getting emotional, tearing up at the thought of Ivory being scared and alone. Steve handed Nat a tissue as he tried to keep his own tears back.

Steve's sadness was more out of guilt that he didn't do enough to remain involved in Ivory's life before everything that happened. More importantly he was beginning to feel the weight of knowing he didn't just let Ivory down as her 'God father' but he let down his dead friend who had also suffered at the hands of Thanos' decimation.

"What if they hurt her?" Nat sobbed.

"We can't think that way...She was a smart girl, and if she's anything like Bucky...she definitely got away." Steve says.

"I know I look ridiculous crying...I know my tears won't bring her back but we have to do something...if not for her, for everyone who we lost today..." Nat sighs.

"And we will...let's discuss it with the rest of the team..." Steve says.

"I'll gather everyone up..." Rhodes says leaving the office.
