Chatrklao had been waiting for his lover since early evening, but even by 8 PM, there wasn't even a shadow of her. Kwanruethai had never missed an appointment before, so out of concern, he decided to check on her at her house. Upon arrival, he was greeted with the sight of her and her sidekick, Samlee, sitting outside, drinking liquor. He couldn't help but feel a surge of anger.

"Why didn't you show up?" he asked.

"Who said I had plans with you?" Instead of looking guilty, Kwanruethai shrugged indifferently. She didn't care in the slightest, even though Chatrklao had been waiting at home for nearly four hours. He had rushed to leave work early, planning to take her out for a drive, only to end up bitterly disappointed.

"You did! Don't tell me you forgot."

"Hey, Samlee, listen to this guy. He's making up stories, saying I stood him up. Isn't that hilarious?" Kwanruethai laughed mockingly, turning to her companion.

Chatrklao couldn't hold back his frustration anymore. He grabbed her wrist, pulling her up abruptly.

Samlee froze, his mouth agape.

"I need to talk to you. Let's find somewhere private to discuss this," Chatrklao insisted.

Kwanruethai wrenched her arm away, glaring at him. "Hey! Let go of me! What makes you think you can grab me like that? I've got nothing to talk about with you!"

Looking at Samlee, who was listening intently, Chatrklao knew he had no choice but to play his cards differently. "Fine. You decide. Do we talk about this here in front of Samlee, or do we take it somewhere else? If anything happens, don't blame me."

Kwanruethai crossed her arms, her expression unbothered. "You said we'd go for a drive today, but instead, you left me waiting. Is that what you want to discuss?"

"No, the real issue is this: two days ago, you agreed to be my girlfriend!" Chatrklao retorted, his voice rising in frustration.

Samlee, who had been casually eating grilled catfish with sticky rice, froze mid-bite, his eyes darting between the two. "Wait... Boss is his what?"

Kwanruethai snapped at him, "You don't need to listen, Samlee. I'm not involved with anyone. This city doctor is just making things up. Have you ever seen me interested in him? I can't stand the sight of him—how could I be his girlfriend?"

Chatrklao stared at her, baffled. Two days ago, they had cleared the air between them. He hadn't visited her for those two days because of work, but he'd planned to make it up to her today. Now, it was like she had become a completely different person.

"What are you angry about? Tell me what I did wrong," he demanded.

Kwanruethai glared at him, her arms still crossed. "I just can't stand you. Satisfied now?"

"You can't stand me?" Chatrklao echoed, stunned. No woman had ever spoken to him like this before. Normally, he wouldn't care, but hearing these words from her felt like his heart was being torn apart. The sweet, kind woman he knew seemed to have vanished, leaving behind a stranger.

"Yes, I can't stand you. Now leave! Go enjoy your sweet milk wherever you want..." Her voice trailed off as she realized what she had just said and quickly shut her mouth.

Chatrklao smirked. "So, you're jealous."

"Jealous? Me? Don't be ridiculous!" Kwanruethai's voice shot up, her eyes darting around nervously. "Not at all!"

"But you are. If it's about Mali, I can explain—"

"I don't want to hear it!" she cut him off sharply.
