3rd person pov:It was a bright, sunny morning at Disneyland. Kylie Cantrall adjusted her sunglasses as she stepped through the gates, feeling the excitement and nervous energy buzzing in the air. She was joined by her fellow Disney castmates: Malia Baker, Ruby Rose Turner, Joshua Colley, Morgan Dudley, Dara Renee, Tristan Pul, and Peder Lindell. This outing was supposed to be a fun break from their hectic schedules—a chance to bond and let loose.
As everyone discussed their plans for the day, Kylie hung back a little. She loved Disneyland, but the towering roller coasters made her stomach churn. She had always been terrified of them, and just the thought of getting on one made her palms sweat.
“Alright, first stop: Space Mountain!” Joshua announced, his voice brimming with excitement. The group cheered, except for Kylie, who forced a smile.
“You okay?” Malia’s soft voice broke through her thoughts. Kylie turned to find Malia looking at her with concern.
“Yeah, totally,” Kylie said quickly, though her voice faltered.
Malia raised an eyebrow. “You sure? You don’t seem totally on board with this.”
Kylie hesitated before admitting, “I’m not really a fan of roller coasters.”
Malia gave her a reassuring smile. “That’s okay. You don’t have to ride if you don’t want to.”
As the group approached Space Mountain, Kylie lingered at the back, ready to opt out. But then Malia surprised her by staying behind.
“You’re not going?” Kylie asked.
“I’ll ride if you ride,” Malia said, her tone gentle yet encouraging.
Kylie bit her lip. “I don’t know if I can do it.”
“You don’t have to do it alone,” Malia replied. “I’ll be right there with you the whole time. And if it gets too much, we can back out together. No pressure.”
Kylie hesitated for a long moment before nodding. “Okay… I’ll try.”
______________________________As they approached the loading area, Kylie’s nerves were in overdrive. The sound of the coaster’s roaring tracks and the screams of riders only made her anxiety worse.
“Deep breaths,” Malia said, placing a comforting hand on Kylie’s arm. “You’ve got this.”
The two of them sat side by side in the coaster car, with Malia squeezing Kylie’s hand for support. As the ride started moving, Kylie felt her heart racing.
The darkness of Space Mountain only added to the suspense, and by the time they reached the first big drop, Kylie squeezed her eyes shut.
“I can’t do this!” she cried out.
“It’s okay!” Malia said, her voice steady and calming. “Just hold on. You’re doing great!”
The ride continued, and though Kylie made it to the end, she was shaking as they disembarked.
“I don’t think I can ever do that again,” Kylie said, her voice trembling.
“But you did it,” Malia pointed out. “That was brave.”
______________________________The rest of the group cheered for Kylie when they saw she had ridden the coaster, though they didn’t push her to do any more rides. Malia stuck by her side, encouraging her and keeping the mood light.
They spent the next few hours exploring other parts of the park: watching parades, taking goofy photos, and riding gentler attractions like the teacups and the carousel.
At one point, Malia pulled Kylie aside. “You know, I’m really proud of you for trying that coaster earlier. It’s not easy to face your fears.”
Kylie smiled, her cheeks flushing. “I couldn’t have done it without you.”
“You’re stronger than you think,” Malia said, her eyes warm and steady.
_____________________________Toward the end of the day, the group decided to ride the park’s newest roller coaster, which had an even bigger drop than Space Mountain.
“I think I’ll sit this one out,” Kylie said, her nerves returning.
Malia hesitated before taking her hand. “What if we tried it together? Just one more time. No pressure—only if you’re up for it.”
Kylie looked at Malia, feeling a surge of determination. Malia had been by her side all day, supporting her without judgment. Maybe she could try one more time—for herself and for Malia.
“Okay,” Kylie said, her voice stronger this time. “Let’s do it.”
As they climbed into the coaster car, Kylie felt the familiar rush of fear, but Malia’s presence was grounding.
“You’re going to be amazing,” Malia said, holding her hand tightly.
The ride started, and as they climbed the first massive hill, Kylie’s heart pounded. But this time, she kept her eyes open. When the drop came, she screamed—but it was a scream of exhilaration, not terror.
By the time the ride ended, Kylie was laughing uncontrollably. “That was actually… fun!” she exclaimed, her eyes wide with disbelief.
“I told you,” Malia said, grinning.
______________________________As the group gathered for fireworks at the end of the night, Kylie felt a sense of accomplishment she hadn’t expected. She had faced her fear and come out stronger on the other side—and Malia had been there every step of the way.
“Thanks for today,” Kylie said quietly as the fireworks lit up the sky.
Malia turned to her, her smile soft and genuine. “Anytime.”
Kylie felt her heart swell with gratitude—and maybe something more.
That day at Disneyland became one of Kylie’s favorite memories—not just because she conquered her fear of roller coasters, but because she realized how much someone’s support could mean.
