Chapter 4: Weapons of Destiny

Continuing from the previous chapter, Wu awakens in the Underworld after a long journey down from the Fire Temple.

WU: "Hmm... the Underworld."

He sees some Skullkin Warriors walking by and hides from them as he wraps up the Sword of Fire and searches for Garmadon. He stealthily moved around, the Skullkin being unaware of his presence.

Meanwhile, Jay, Zane, and Cole arrive at the Fire Temple to look for Kai, Y/N, and Wu.

COLE: "Kai! Y/N! Sensei!"

ZANE: "The Sword of Fire was here, as well our friends, but I only sense loss. We are too late. The Elemental Weapons have left this realm and are now in the Underworld. The end is drawing near."

COLE: "Ugh... great. The one place no mortal can cross over."

KAI: "We might not be able to cross over..."

The three ninja take a step back at the sudden entry of Kai's voice. The Fire Temple opens, revealing Kai, Y/N, and Nya on the back of the Fire Dragon.

Y/N: "...But those same rules don't apply to a dragon."

The dragon roars, getting Cole to scream in fear and hide behind one of the pillars due to his fear of dragons.

NYA: "Our father used to tell us stories about the dragons, that they were mystical creatures that belong to both worlds and ferried between them."

Her arms were wrapped securely around Y/N's midsection. The gray ninja, on his part, didn't react much to this.

COLE: "Are you insane?!"

Y/N: "That depends on who you ask."

Nya giggles slightly at the slight joke Y/N made.

KAI: "Once he realized we were trying to protect the Sword of Fire, he actually became quite a softie."

The dragon nudges Kai with its head, giving him a soft, playful lick. Kai chuckled at this.

KAI: "Knock it off."

Nya giggles again.

Y/N: "They were always meant to protect the Golden Weapons. That's why the other dragons attacked us, because they thought we were stealing them."

JAY: "Do you like blue?"

He coughs, voice still ragged from being hit by Cole's scythe.

ZANE: "He cannot talk, but he wants to know if you like blue."

NYA: "It's my favorite color. That and red."

She messes with Y/N's spiky hair, though, he didn't protest to it. He seemed quite content, in fact. It reminded him so much of...her.

JAY: "Yes."

Jay made a small victory gesture as Kai shakes his head in annoyance. Y/N also looked disapprovingly at Jay. Y/N then hoped off the dragon, helping Nya get off as well.

KAI: "Nya..."

NYA: "This is goodbye, isn't it?" Kai nods his head. "Come back to me in one piece, okay? I don't wanna have to run the store on my own."

KAI: "I promise I won't be gone for long."

NYA: "I'll keep a candle lit outside our shop until you return."
