Chapter 28: Island of Darkness

The ninja reached the Dark Island, but are on the lookout for the Stone Army and the Black Arms that were patrolling the island. Wu sleeps on his quarters as the ceiling fan above spins, until he heard a slight tick from the Celestial Clock and wakes up with a gasp.

Outside, Kai watched as a party of Stone Scouts search the area, but found nothing. The Black Arms scan the area as well, sniffing for any new threats. However, they too found nothing. They say something in a foreign language before leaving. Kai rushed back to the Bounty, which wasn't that far away from where he was.

KAI: "This whole island is swarming with Garmadon's indestructible Stone Army and the Black Arms."

JAY: "Ha! Good thing we're ninja and we know how to hide."

COLE: "Who wants to hide when you can fight? I'm getting tired of having our heads buried in the sand. I wanna fight these guys."

ZANE: "But Cole, they have no apparent weakness. It would be unwise to start a fight we cannot finish."

Y/N: "Zane is correct. However, the Black Arms are not indestructible, but their strength will overpower us. Until you four gain powers to combat them, we need to stay hidden."

Wu walks out of the Bounty and looks at his students and son.

WU: "That is why we must find the Temple of Light."

They go in the Destiny's Bounty, where Misako explains the scrolls laid out before them.

MISAKO: "The scrolls say there is a hidden temple on the island. If you find it, it will give the ninja pure elemental powers, powers that can destroy the indestructible army."

COLE: "So you're saying we get to fight the Stone Army? Whoo-hoo! I've got happy feet!"

Misako smiled, clearly amused by Cole's clear excitement. When she looked at the others, excitement was clear in their eyes, though they refrained from expressing it like Cole. She then turned to Lloyd.

MISAKO: "And you, my son, here it is written: "For once the Green Ninja finds the instrument of peace, he will strike it and know the power of the Ultimate Spinjitzu Master"."

LLOYD: "Ultimate Spinjitzu Master?"

MISAKO: "It means you will be able to invoke the power of the Golden Dragon, an ancient fighting style only practiced by the First Spinjitzu Master."

Everyone's jaw went slightly slackened at that. Even Y/N, who usually remained stoic, had a look of surprise on his face. Who wouldn't be? Lloyd would practically be gaining the powers of the same man who created Ninjago thousands of years ago.

LLOYD: "Hahaha. Jealous?"

KAI: "Uh, wait a minute. This all sounds too good to be true. What's the catch?"

WU: "The catch is, the Temple could be anywhere on the island, and all we have is this."

He gives Dr. Jullien a medallion with three holes.
