Rias: I do not want you to talk to that girl again. If she's truly a church member, no matter how kindhearted she seems, she is our enemy.

Issei: So what? I'm not about to ghost her just because she's a follower of God.

A sharp, sudden headache made Issei jolt as he argued with Rias.

Rias: Seeing as you're still new to this way of life, I'll explain it to you. Members of the church serve the biblical god which means they are the enemies of both the fallen and devils. We don't know who this girl serves or if they're seeking peace as we do. For all we know she could be working for Y/n, and I should think you know he won't hesitate to-

Issei: Yeah, I know, but still. She's too pure, there's no way she would willingly help someone like him. I watched her heal a kid's wounded knee earlier. Would a corrupted follower of God do that without an ulterior motive?

Rias: Issei look, I hope I'm wrong, truly I do, but I have a bad feeling about this girl. It would help if you were more careful who you make friends with. Do you recall feeling weird when you brought her to the church?

Issei: Yeah.

Rias: That's your senses telling you danger is near. A church is enemy territory. Going there will lead to something bad happening.

Issei: Need I remind you this alliance of ours is for mutual convenience? I'm not your slave, so stop treating me like one! It's no business of yours who I talk to, so stay out of it.

Walking away, Issei slammed the door and left the ORC. He clenched his fist as his anger swelled. He began to think that he'd been too hasty accepting Rias' help. He didn't think it through enough and now he was in a contract for the rest of his life.

Issei: What does she know? Asia is too kindhearted, so there's no way she's working for Y/n. She wouldn't do something like that willingly. Next time I see her I'll just ask. Better safe than sorry.

-Y/n pov-

Following the trace of Raynare's aura, I found her sitting on the edge of the roof, facing the forest behind the church. I walked behind her and cleared my throat, causing her to jolt in surprise.

Raynare: Oh, it's you.

Y/n: I heard how you tried to scare the girl. What's up with that?

Raynare: We need to make sure she doesn't get any funny ideas, and nothing inspires loyalty like fear.

Y/n: Wrong. You make them want to serve you by being nice when needed and ruthless when they fail. That is how we control her. Your massive ego is holding you back from that. Humans may be weak, but they are by no means powerless. Take Issei for example. Even after taking several light spears to the gut, he not only survived but also awakened his sacred gear and managed to take out Mittelt in the process. You underestimate them because they don't possess the same powers we do. Underestimate your enemy again and it'll be the death of you. Thats something fallen and devils have in common. They see themselves as superior and cannot fathom someone possibly overwhelming their strength. It's why they lost so many of their warriors.

Raynare: And you aren't? Last I checked, you're one of us too.

Y/n: I grew up differently than you did. I was taught to respect strength where it's due and to never underestimate my opponents. You, on the other hand, do not.

Raynare: What the hell do you know about me?!

Y/n: Enough.

Raynare: Yeah right. We're nothing but tools to you. How do I know you won't just discard us after getting what you want?
