The day of my discharge had finally arrived, and I felt a mix of emotions as I prepared to leave the hospital behind. The past two days had been quiet, with a noticeable absence of two familiar faces. Ever since the hidden microphone was discovered, Levi and Hange had been conspicuous by their absence.
I thought back to the day the microphone had been found, I realized that Levi must have learned about its discovery. It was the only explanation for his sudden disappearance. I had a feeling that he wasn't ready to answer my questions, to face the consequences of his actions. The thought sent a shiver down my spine, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease.
I stood up from the bed, Toji walked into the room, a warm smile on his face. "ready to leave?" he asked, his eyes crinkling at the corners. Blake trailed behind him, a look of amusement on his face.
I let out a sigh, feeling a mix of relief and exhaustion. "Yes," I said happily, trying to muster up some enthusiasm.
Toji nodded, his smile growing wider. "Good. You'll be staying at my place," he said, as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
Blake raised an eyebrow, a look of skepticism on his face. "No one's lived there for years," he complained. "It must be covered in dust and spider webs."
Toji chuckled, a low, rumbling sound. "I got the place cleaned yesterday," he said, his eyes glinting with amusement. "It's ready to move in." He turned to me, his expression serious. "You're coming with me. You'll be safer there."
Just as I was about to refuse Toji's offer, the sound of footsteps echoed outside the room, growing louder with each passing moment. I turned my head towards the door, my heart sinking as I saw Levi standing in the doorway, his usual cold expression etched on his face.
His piercing eyes scanned the room, taking in the scene before him. His gaze lingered on Toji for a moment, a flicker of something akin to annoyance dancing in his eyes. Then, his gaze shifted to me, and he spoke in his characteristic calm, detached tone.
"I'm taking you to my place," he said, his voice firm and authoritative. "It's a lot safer." His eyes seemed to bore into mine, as if daring me to refuse his offer.
I felt a shiver run down my spine as I met Levi's gaze. Something was unsettling about the way he looked at me, something that made me feel like he could see right through me.
Blake's eyes blazed with indignation as he took a step forward, his finger pointing accusingly at Levi. "You're the one who planted that hidden microphone, aren't you?"
Toji's eyes narrowed, his gaze fixed intently on Levi. "So this is the dude," he growled, taking a step forward, His voice was rumbling with a deep-seated anger. Toji's fists were clenched at his sides, his muscles tensed and ready to spring into action.
Levi's expression remained calm, his eyes never leaving mine. He stood tall, his shoulders squared, and his voice was even and detached. "I had my reasons for doing so," he said, his words dripping with an air of superiority.
Toji scoffed, his face twisted in disgust. "By invading her privacy?"
The words were laced with outrage, and Toji's eyes flashed with anger. He took another step forward. "You're supposed to be protecting her, not spying on her," he growled, his voice low and menacing.I took a deep breath and turned to Toji and Blake, my eyes pleading with them to give me some space. "Can I talk to Levi alone for a minute?" I asked, trying to keep my voice calm.
