"Hange, why the fuck are we at the graveyard?" he asked, his eyes scanning the rows of headstones.
Hange didn't respond, instead choosing to get out of the car and walk towards the graves. Levi followed her, his eyes fixed on her back as she navigated the winding path.
"Hange, what's going on?" Levi pressed, his voice low and urgent. "Why did you bring me here?"
Hange still didn't answer, her silence oppressive and heavy with unspoken emotions. Levi's heart felt like it was heavy with lead, weighed down by the worry and fear that had been building up inside him.
As they walked, the only sound was the crunch of gravel beneath their feet, and the distant call of a bird. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and decaying leaves.
Hange finally stopped in front of a grave, her eyes fixed on the headstone. Levi followed her gaze, his heart skipping a beat as he wondered who was buried here, and why Hange had brought him to this place.
"Hange, who...?" Levi started to ask, but his voice trailed off as he read the name on the headstone.
Levi's eyes widened in horror as he gazed at the name etched into the stone. (Y/N) (L/N). The words seemed to leap off the headstone, striking him with the force of a physical blow. He felt like he had been punched in the gut, his breath knocked out of him.
He turned to Hange, his eyes blazing with a mix of shock, anger, and denial. "What kind of sick joke is this?" he demanded, his voice low and menacing. He took a step closer to Hange, his fists clenched at his sides.
Hange's expression was somber, her eyes filled with a deep sadness. She didn't flinch under Levi's intense gaze, but instead, she seemed to shrink into herself, as if the weight of her own grief was crushing her.
Levi's eyes darted back to the headstone, as if he couldn't believe what he was seeing. He stumbled backward, his legs trembling beneath him, as if he was about to collapse.
The world around him seemed to spin out of control, the colors bleeding together in a mad whirlwind of chaos. Levi's mind was reeling, his thoughts fragmented and disjointed. He couldn't process what he was seeing, couldn't accept the reality of the situation.
(Y/N) was dead. The thought was a cold, hard stone that had been dropped into the depths of his soul. It was a weight that he couldn't bear, a burden that was crushing him.
Levi's eyes locked onto Hange's, his gaze burning with a desperate plea. "Tell me this isn't real," he whispered, his voice cracking with emotion. "Tell me she's still alive."
Hange's words dropped like a bombshell, shattering the fragile hope that Levi had been clinging to. "(Y/N) was stabbed four days ago," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Someone found her in a dark alley, and the police managed to contact me. I rushed back to the city as soon as I could."
"Rushed back to the city? Where the heck were-"
"Shipment expenditure meeting" Hange cut him off.
"No," Levi whispered, his voice shaking with denial. "This can't be happening. She's...she's supposed to be okay."
Levi felt like he was living in a nightmare, a never-ending horror show from which he couldn't awaken.
