I stepped into the familiar bedroom at Toji's place, a wave of nostalgia washed over me. This was my sanctuary, my hiding place from the world's prying eyes. The memories of countless nights spent within these walls, seeking comfort and shelter, came flooding back. It had been a few days since I'd been discharged from the hospital, and the world still felt like a fragile, unstable place.
Levi's constant presence had been a comfort, his shadow silently following me everywhere, ever observant and attentive. His eyes, filled with concern and care, had been a steady source of reassurance.
Toji, on the other hand, maintained a careful distance, his eyes never leaving me, yet his emotions locked tightly behind a mask of calm.
The night air was alive with the twinkling city lights, a celestial showcase that stretched out before me like a canvas of diamonds. The stars above, a million points of light, shone with a gentle intensity, as if trying to pierce the darkness.
The door creaked open, and Toji came out from the shadows, his figure silhouetted against the dimly lit room behind him. The soft glow of the lamps cast a warm, golden light on his features, illuminating the sharp lines of his face and the piercing intensity of his eyes.
Toji's voice was laced with venom as he spat out the question, "What's going on between Levi and you?" I felt a surge of confusion, my mind racing to understand the accusation. "What do you mean?" I asked, trying to sound carefree despite the growing unease in my chest.
I could see the bitterness etched on his features, his jaw clenched in a tight, furious line. "Don't play dumb," he growled, his voice low and menacing. "I know exactly what I've seen. Levi's always lurking around you, watching you like a hawk. And that kiss at the hospital... what was that about?"
Before I could even form a response, Toji's words cut through the air like a knife, "The microphone under your hospital bed."
"It's complicated," I stammered, trying to deflect the conversation.
Toji's hand shot out, his cold fingers brushing against my skin as he tucked a stray strand of hair behind my ear. The gentle touch belied the intensity in his eyes, which seemed to bore into my very soul.
"You're making the same mistake again," he whispered, his voice dripping with a mix of sadness and accusation. The words hung in the air, heavy with unspoken meaning, as Toji's gaze held mine, searching for answers.
I searched Toji's face, trying to solve the meaning behind his enigmatic words. "What do you mean?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Toji's eyes seemed to cloud over, his gaze drifting into the past as he spoke. "Falling in love with a man who is as unpredictable as a stormy sea," he said, his voice low and measured. "A man who is as dangerous, who doesn't know the meaning of personal boundaries and who will stop at nothing to claim what he wants."
As Toji spoke, his words painted a vivid picture in my mind. I felt a shiver run down my spine as I realized that he was talking about Levi.
"You're making the same mistake again," he repeated, "You're falling for someone who will only bring you pain and heartache."
I felt like I was standing at the edge of a precipice, staring into the abyss. Toji's warning was clear: Levi was trouble, and I was walking blindly into the storm.
