A few weeks later
Onika pov
"Is this everything ?" I asked my sisters looking around at all the bags.
"Yea, come on let's set up before people start coming" Tommie said and I nodded.
Lauren birthday is tomorrow and she wanted to have a sleep over like beyonce did.
I was gone throw her a party but this works too so I told her I'll take care of everything she just need to tell the people.
And I did take care of everything. I got us a bnb and now I'm decorating it for her.
She's been sad lately about her dad, and I still haven't told her he was the one that stabbed me. I was hoping this could take her mind off of all that and get her smiling again.
I'm also hoping she give me some tonight. She still got this bet going on and it's so stupid to me.
She basically won because I was willing to do it I just stopped before we really got started because I ain't know what I was doing.
Atleast I even got in position for it, that should be worth something.
All she wanna do is say it don't count and call me stingy though. But it's ok, I'm gone fuck her up when I finally get the chance.
"Cookie text Lauren and make sure she's getting ready because after we get done in here y'all need to go pick up the cake and stuff" Tommie told me.
I nodded and started putting the decorations up.
Lauren pov
"Noonie I keep telling you to send me what you want for your birthday and Christmas. You about to only be getting that lil party if you don't stop playing" my mom said while I put my shoes on.
"I just want some money and clothes ma" I said with a slight shrug.
"And what about this birthday breakfast ? Who all plan on coming here ?" She asked me.
"Just my friends and nika" I said. "Please make sure you have the food ready" I said putting my hands together.
"Ok noonie but y'all don't need to get here and tear up my damn house" she said "We're not ma, we got some home training" I said standing up off my bed.
She smiled walking up to me "My baby turning eighteen tomorrow.. I can't believe it" she said cupping my face.
"Maaa" I slight dragged out moving her hands. Here she go being all dramatic and stuff.
"Well I'm sorry that I love you noonie !" She exclaimed and I laughed hugging her.
"I love you too ma" I said while she kissed on my cheek. "Ok I know you about to go celebrate.. please be careful baby"
"I will" I said and she nodded pulling away.
My phone started ringing and I picked it up thinking it was nika. Instead I seen it was my dad calling me and gasp feeling my heart skip a beat.
"What is it ?" My mom asked frowning at me.
"My daddy is calling me" I looked up at her slightly confused.
"Well, do you wanna answer ?" She asked me getting a nod in response. "Answer then."
I nodded again looking down at the phone and answered while she walked away. I had no idea what he was about to say to me as I brought the phone up to me ear feeling nervous.
"hello ?" I quietly spoke.
"Hi noonie"
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in. He doesn't sound like he hates me like he usually does when we talk.
