Entering the mess hall was like being a unicorn. Everyone stared Barachiel with crazy expressions. All was quiet and no one moved except for three girls at one table who were fixing their bras and makeup. Cora led me to a buffet table in the middle of the room. Everyone’s eyes followed us as we walked over to the food. It was very creepy and I hated every second of the staring. It looked as though Cora had enough of the starring as well so she snapped “What are you all staring at?! Go back to eating your damn wheaties!” Cora spat at the onlookers. A smile formed on Barachiel’s lips. ‘This girl has spunk.’ He thought.

Every seemed to regain consciousness and went back to eating. Everyone was trying to avoid looking but they kept giving sly glances at the angel. Cora selected cheerios, whole milk, a banana, and coffee. When Cora was at the end of the table, she glanced back and saw that Barachiel was still at the beginning of the buffet table. She giggled at him as he tried put a banana with the skin still on in his mouth. She grabbed it just in time and started filling a plate for him. Once Cora was done, she led him over to the table where Nate Parks and some of the counselors were sitting. Nate smiled up at the two and sipped some of his coffee. “So how was the tour Barachiel? Is our camp beautiful or not?” Nate asked him while picking up a spoonful of cereal. “Yes, the camp is beautiful. You and your campers are blessed to be here.”

Nate and the other counselors all grinned at the angel. “So tell us Barachiel, what’s heaven like?” Luke, one of the kitchen staff asked. Barachiel frowned. “I have never been to Heaven. The gates are closed to angels.” He replied. Cora and the staff were all curious to hear more. “Why aren’t angels allowed to go through the gates?” Ben, Nate’s second, asked. Barachiel stared down at his full plate. “Everyone who knows is either dead or guarding the gates. I am a 3rd generation of angel who was born in battle so the ones who know all left before the battle before I was born so I wouldn’t know who to ask anyways.” Cora was surprised. She always thought that angels were either on earth acting as guardians or up in heaven. When Barachiel told her that angels were warriors and not guardians she could understand but angels not being allowed in heaven was another thing.

Barachiel tried to bite his orange pre-peel. Cora giggled at his strange antics. “Don’t you know how to eat?” she asked sarcastically but was taken aback when Barachiel shook his head. “Wait, is this your first time eating?” she asked him. “Yes.” Barachiel nodded his head animatedly like a child. Everyone at the table was quiet.

After a very strange lunch that involved the counselors, Nate and Cora teaching Barachiel table manners and the basics of how to take his food out of the packaging before eating. After breakfast Cora and Nate took Barachiel to the only Cabin that had a spare bed in it, which just so happens was the all female cabin that Cora slept in. they set him up in the same room as Cora and two other girls named Kristy and Bella. Cora and Kristy were god friends but Bella was a grade a B#tch. Nate left to get some clothes for Barachiel leaving Cora and Barachiel alone together. “So I guess we’re going to be sleeping together.” Barachiel smiled.

Cora snorted out a laugh. “Don’t say that again bear.” Barachiel’s face was perfect. The way a slight frown played at his lips and his eyebrows came together. He looked so lost. “What’s wrong with what I said? Cora was breathless “Everything.” She replied. The knob on the door twisted and Cora though that it was Nate with the clothes but it turned out to be Bella and her cronies. They came into the cabin and blocked the only exit with their tiny anorexic bodies. Bella spotted the shirtless angel and looked him up and down. Her eyes landed on the outline of his package and grinned.

“So, you’re the angel that fell out of the sky and into our lives. I have to say that you are…” she looked him up again and shook her head smiling. “… HOT.” Barachiel frowned at her “Well, falling through the atmosphere at that speed will do that to someone but I should be cool now.” Cora just rolled her eyes and grinned. ‘He was too cute sometimes.’ she thought. “Haha, wow, you're like a puppy huh? Well how would you like to go for a walk? Come on, boy.” She patted her thigh and her cronies all laughed. ‘Now she’s mocking him and poor Bear doesn’t know, I’ve got to do something.’ Cora stepped in front of the angel and stood in front of Bella.

“Don’t make fun of him Bella; he doesn’t even know when you’re doing it.” Cora crossed her arms and said. Bella just copied her and stared straight back. “That’s what’s so funny about it.” She got in Cora’s face and spat. Barachiel suddenly appeared between them and spread his arms, pushing the girls back. “One second he was there and the next second he wasn’t, damn that boy was fast.” Cora spoke to herself. “I think you should leave now.” Barachiel said to Bella. Bella pouted and then turned to leave. “I’ll have him Cora. By the end of the summer, he will be mine.” Bella tuned and ran out of the door with her cronies following her. A second later Nate popped with some of the clothes. “Did I miss something?” he asked the two. “Just the princess not getting what she wants.” Cora smirked and turned away so that Nate couldn’t see her expression.

After finding different jeans, shorts and shirts that fit Barachiel, Cora led him to the athletic fields. “Why did you pick out shirts for me? You know that I am not going to wear them.” Cora shrugged and gave him the just in case look. The fields were huge; there was one for soccer, baseball, and a couple of smaller ones for miscellaneous things.  A game of ultimate Frisbee was recently going on. “Oooh Frisbee! You’ll love this.” Cora said. Barachiel watched as Cora went over and talked to some guy. He looked like he was a counselor but the thing that Barachiel noticed was that he was very handsome and Cora seemed to smile at him a lot and touch his arms, which were very muscular. Barachiel had a sudden feeling which he could only define as the human emotion of jealousy.

He was confused though. ‘Angel’s don’t have emotions.’ He thought. But maybe Fallen Angels do. Just then Cora came back and interrupted his thoughts. “Okay, so they’re gonna let us play with them. Do you think you’re ready?” Cora asked Barachiel. Barachiel glanced back over to the counselor and saw him looking directly at Cora’s a**. Barachiel nodded. “Just show me how to play.”
