Yoongi was waiting for his drink at the bar when a voice called out from the other end of it.
"Hey, waiter guy!"
"Hey, customer guy," Yoongi replied automatically without even looking up. Coming to this bar so close to the restaurant after work yielded many similar comments. So, Yoongi was not surprised.
"Put his drink on my tab!" the obviously tipsy customer called to the bartender. "He's awesome!"
Yoongi looked up then, and was surprised to find the man who'd been stood up. He began to shake his head, but the customer stood his ground.
"You bought me a drink. Now, I'm buying yours!"
The bartender handed Yoongi his whiskey and raised an eyebrow, silently questioning if Yoongi was okay with the other man paying for the drink. Yoongi sighed slightly but nodded. He then moved down the bar closer to the man.
"You didn't have to do that," he insisted. "It's really not a big deal that I – "
"Hush," the man said with a wave of his hand. "I'm happy to do it!"
He grinned, and Yoongi's heart skipped a beat. Because he had been so forlorn at the restaurant, Yoongi hadn't seen his smile. But now Yoongi had learned that it was radiant and lit up his face, causing his dragon-like eyes to sparkle and revealing adorable deep set dimples that Yoongi inexplicably wanted to reach out and touch.
"W-Well, thank you," Yoongi said, trying not to stare. "I appreciate it."
"My name is Kim Namjoon," the man suddenly said. "What's yours?"
"Min Yoongi," he replied, still unsure as to why he wanted nothing more in that moment than to touch Namjoon's dimples. He took a sip of his whiskey to calm himself down.
"Nice to meet you officially," Namjoon said, still smiling.
"Likewise."
"You wanna sit?" Namjoon asked, gesturing to the empty chair next to him. "I'm yet again by myself. It'd be nice to have some company!"
Yoongi glanced over his shoulder at the table where Jimin and Jungkook were sat, watching him with sly smirks on their faces.
"Well, I'm here with some friends," Yoongi said, and Namjoon's smile faltered. "B-But you can join us if you'd like," he continued, hoping Namjoon's smile would return to its earlier radiant state.
"You sure?" Namjoon asked. "I don't want to intrude..."
"No, you won't be," Yoongi assured. "We're not doing much. Just talking about work and other boring shit. Maybe you can help liven up the conversation."
"I don't know about that, but I can certainly try," Namjoon said with a chuckle. He then stood and followed Yoongi as they headed to his friends' table.
"Guys, this is Namjoon," Yoongi said as he narrowed his eyes at his friends and their smirks. "Be nice."
Namjoon looked at Yoongi with a quizzical look, but didn't say anything. Yoongi continued introductions. "Jimin and Jungkook," he said, pointing out each in turn.
"Nice to meet you," Jimin said with a genuine smile.
"Yeah, are you joining us?" Jungkook asked.
"Thanks and yeah, if that's okay."
"Definitely!" Jungkook replied. "These two are boring. I'm happy to have someone new to chat with!"
Yoongi rolled his eyes and Jimin gasped indignantly. "Rude!"
