"I guess you were right," Jimin shouted at Jungkook over the din. "Another drink has definitely helped him focus on something else."
Taehyung sighed as the three watched a drunken Yoongi conversing with an equally drunken Kim Seokjin. Yoongi was laughing loudly, clearly enjoying the attention Seokjin was showering him with.
"Do you think this is a bad thing?" Jungkook nervously asked Taehyung.
Taehyung shrugged. "I certainly don't think it's necessarily a good thing."
Jungkook nodded and Jimin shook his head.
"Should we intervene?" Jimin asked.
Taehyung just shrugged again. Part of him thought that yes, they should. Yoongi was in no state to be getting involved with anyone, especially someone as notorious as Kim Seokjin, tonight. But part of him thought that this might be exactly what he needed after the disturbing incident of rejection he'd just experienced earlier.
"Let's just wait a little longer and see where this goes."
Jimin and Jungkook nodded, silently agreeing with Taehyung.
Everyone was shocked at what had just transpired over the past half hour. Kim Seokjin, the extremely famous idol, had recognized Yoongi from when Yoongi had been his server. This surprised everyone enough on its own, but then he'd invited Yoongi to join him and his entourage over drinks, and the three others were shocked. As they'd both gotten drunker, Seokjin was suddenly treating Yoongi like royalty, as though he was actually interested in him or something.
"I mean, Yoongi's a good looking guy," Jungkook said suddenly. "Why wouldn't he catch someone's eye? Famous people are still people, ya know?"
"You really think he's interested in him, though?" Jimin asked. "I mean, yeah, Yoongi's great. But don't famous people usually stick with other famous people?"
"Maybe he just craves normalcy," Taehyung reasoned.
The three continued watching, still confused and unsure of what to think or do.
Suddenly, Seokjin's phone rang, and he looked at it confusedly. His eyebrows rose and he glanced at Yoongi, who hadn't seemed to notice the distraction. Seokjin leaned over to him, whispered something in his ear, then excused himself. The three friends watched as he exited the bar just as he answered the phone.
They looked back over at Yoongi, who was now chatting with who appeared to be Seokjin's right hand man. The look on Yoongi's face was one of pure joy. He was clearly relishing the attention. For what seemed like the hundredth time that night, Taehyung sighed. He was nervous that his friend would get hurt.
"He'll be fine," Jungkook said. "The attention seems to be a good thing – "
"Yoongs is sensitive," Taehyung interrupted. "We don't know anything about Kim Seokjin. He could be a man whore for all we know! And if Yoongs is just a one night thing for him..."
Jimin's eyebrows rose. "Yoongi wouldn't have a one night stand, would he?"
Taehyung shook his head. "But if he thought it was more serious than that..."
"Like, if he thought Seokjin was genuinely interested..."
Taehyung nodded. "I wouldn't be surprised if he gave in."
Jungkook's eyes widened. "Yeah, I think we should put a stop to this."
Taehyung nodded. "Right now."
The three friends stood and begin to head toward Yoongi. They had almost reached him when the bar door opened again, and Seokjin reentered. He was obviously upset, but had a hard look of determination in his eyes. He sauntered back over to the table, turned the chair Yoongi was sitting in around to face him, and hauled Yoongi up out of it by his arm. Yoongi looked up at him, confused.
