The reception was winding down, the soft glow of string lights casting a warm ambiance over the dance floor. TK was laughing, twirling one of Tommy's twins as music played in the background. The moment felt perfect, filled with love and celebration. But then Carlos appeared, his hand slipping into TK's with a playful smirk.
"What are you doing?" TK asked, his giggle laced with curiosity as Carlos started pulling him toward the exit.
Carlos leaned in close, his voice low and full of promise. "What? You thought our wedding night would be spent all on the dance floor?"
TK flushed but allowed himself to be led away, the warmth of Carlos's hand grounding him. They stepped into the car waiting outside, the cool night air brushing against their skin. Carlos helped TK into the passenger seat before sliding into the driver's side. The silence between them buzzed with anticipation as Carlos started the car.
"You're not even going to tell me where we're going?" TK teased, his tone light but filled with excitement.
Carlos reached over, intertwining their fingers as he drove. "You'll see."
The drive to their loft felt both endless and too short, the air thick with unspoken affection. When they arrived, Carlos barely waited for the door to close before he pulled TK into his arms. Their lips met in a deep, lingering kiss, Carlos's hands cradling TK's face as if he were the most precious thing in the world.
"I've been waiting for this moment all day," Carlos murmured against TK's lips, his voice trembling with emotion.
"Me too," TK whispered, his breath hitching as Carlos led him toward the bedroom. Their laughter echoed softly through the space as they stumbled inside, fingers fumbling with buttons and zippers, each movement deliberate and tender. The intensity of the day gave way to something softer, deeper, as they took their time exploring every inch of each other.
As Carlos pressed kisses along TK's jawline, his hands tracing patterns across his skin, he paused, their eyes locking. "Thank you," he said, his voice thick with emotion.
TK blinked up at him, his brows furrowing slightly. "For what?"
"For coming into my life," Carlos whispered. "For loving me, for choosing me. You've made me the happiest man in the world."
TK's eyes filled with tears, his heart swelling as he reached up to pull Carlos closer. "Always," he whispered, their lips meeting again in a kiss that spoke of promises and forever.
They lost themselves in each other, their love tangible in every touch, every whispered word. When they finally drifted off to sleep, tangled together, the world outside ceased to exist.
The next morning, TK stirred awake to the soft press of lips against his jawline. He groaned, burying his face deeper into the pillow as Carlos's voice broke through the haze of sleep.
"Time to get up, Cariño. If we don't leave soon, we'll miss our flight."
TK blinked, his voice thick with confusion as he turned to look at Carlos. "What flight?"
Carlos grinned, holding up a small envelope. "Our flight to Hawaii. It's my wedding gift to you."
"Hawaii?" TK's eyes widened, his sleepiness evaporating in an instant. "You—you didn't have to—"
Carlos cut him off with a soft kiss, his hands cradling TK's face. "You've always talked about wanting to go, and I want to give you that. We deserve this."
TK sat up, his emotions bubbling to the surface as he wrapped his arms tightly around Carlos. "But your dad... everything you've been through... we don't need to go."
Carlos pulled back just enough to meet TK's gaze, his expression serious but tender. "My dad would want me to be happy. And this—our life together—it shouldn't be put on hold. You deserve this, and so do I."
TK's voice broke as tears spilled down his cheeks. "I love you."
Carlos kissed him softly. "I love you too. Now, get dressed. We've got a plane to catch."
Hawaii was everything TK had dreamed of and more. The sun was warm on their skin, the water crystal-clear, and the vibrant energy of the islands felt like a fresh start. They spent their days exploring, their laughter echoing as they tried new things together. One afternoon, TK convinced Carlos to try surfing, though Carlos was initially hesitant.
"You're a danger magnet, TK. You'll end up with a concussion or worse," Carlos had protested, his protective instincts kicking in.
"But we're on our honeymoon," TK argued, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "Come on, it'll be fun!"
Carlos sighed, unable to resist that look. "Fine. But if you get hurt, I'm wrapping you in bubble wrap for the rest of the trip."
TK laughed, grabbing his hand. "Deal."
The two of them spent the afternoon wobbling comically on their boards, Carlos managing to stand briefly while TK tumbled repeatedly into the water. Their laughter was infectious, their worries melting away with each splash. In the evenings, they swam in the moonlit ocean before retreating to their room, where they showed their love in quiet, intimate moments that strengthened their bond.
One morning, as they wandered through a quiet street, TK's eyes lit up as he spotted a small pastry shop. He pressed his face to the glass, pointing excitedly. "Carlos, look! They have malasadas! I've always wanted to try those."
Carlos chuckled, his heart swelling at TK's childlike enthusiasm. "You're adorable, you know that?"
TK grinned, pulling him inside. They ordered an assortment of pastries, and Carlos couldn't help but fall in love with him all over again as he watched TK savor each bite, his eyes lighting up with delight.
Later that day, as they lounged on the beach, Carlos reached over and took TK's hand, his voice soft as he said, "You enjoying yourself, husband?"
TK froze, the word settling over him like a warm embrace. He turned to Carlos, his eyes glossy with emotion. "Say that again."
Carlos smirked, leaning closer. "Husband."
TK let out a shaky breath, his smile soft and full of love. "I've dreamt of being called that for so long. Being your husband."
Carlos pulled him into a kiss, their fingers intertwined in the sand. "And now you are. Forever."
TK rested his forehead against Carlos's, his voice barely above a whisper. "Forever."
They stayed like that, the world fading away as they basked in the joy of their love, their honeymoon a perfect start to the rest of their lives together.
