Carlos had the rare gift of a day off, and he wasn't going to waste it. He knew TK hardly ever took time for himself, always balancing work, being a husband, and now a father. So when Carlos suggested TK go out without Jonah and do something he enjoyed, TK had been hesitant, going back and forth about whether or not to leave their son behind. But Carlos had been persistent, practically shoving him out the door with a teasing kiss and a reminder that Jonah was in good hands. Finally, TK caved and invited Marjan and Nancy to visit Tommy.

Now, as TK grabbed coffee with the girls, Carlos sat on the couch watching Jonah play with his toy cars on the living room floor. Valentine's Day was a month away, and for the past few years, he and TK had always celebrated the same way—dinner at a fancy restaurant, a romantic night in a hotel, uninterrupted time together. But this year was different. This year, they had Jonah, and while Carlos wanted to keep their tradition alive, he knew they had to celebrate with their little boy in mind.

Carlos smiled to himself before reaching down and lifting Jonah into his lap. He smoothed his son's dark curls, looking down at him with warmth. "Hey, buddy," he started, his voice gentle. "Do you know what Valentine's Day is?"

Jonah looked up at him, his big brown eyes blinking curiously before he shook his head. "No, Papa."

Carlos froze for a second, his breath catching in his throat. Jonah had called him 'Papa'. He didn't know exactly when it started, but the first time it happened, he had cried in TK's arms, overwhelmed with happiness. Hearing it again now sent a warm ache through his chest, and he couldn't stop himself from pressing a lingering kiss to Jonah's curls. "It's a day where we celebrate love," he explained once he composed himself. "Every year, I surprise Papa-bro with something special because I love him very much."

Jonah's eyes widened as he processed this. "So... we gonna surpwise Papa-bwo?" he asked, his little voice filled with excitement.

Carlos chuckled, nodding. "That's exactly what I was thinking. But I need your help. What do you think we should do?"

Jonah's face scrunched in deep thought before he exclaimed, "Fwawers! And shocowates!"

Carlos laughed, pulling Jonah close and hugging him. "Flowers and chocolates, huh? You really know how to spoil him." Jonah grinned, nodding enthusiastically.

Carlos sat cross-legged on the floor, watching Jonah stack his toy cars in neat rows before turning his attention to his son. "Alright, buddy, we need a solid plan. It has to be a big surprise for Papa-bro. What else do you think we should do besides flowers and chocolates?"

Jonah tapped his chin like he had seen Carlos do when he was thinking really hard, then gasped dramatically. "Oh! We make bweakfast! And—and we wake him up together!"

Carlos grinned, ruffling Jonah's curls. "That's a great idea, bud. We can make pancakes, his favorite. And after breakfast, you're going to do your part of the plan."

Jonah tilted his head, curious. "My pawt?"

Carlos nodded. "You have to ask Papa-bro to take you to the park for a few hours."
