She smiles, glancing at him and back to the road.

"Why do you ask?"

He shrugged a bit, looking away once more. He knew it was a pretty random question, but it had been weighing on his mind since he'd first seen her. He let out a soft sigh, his voice nervous and a bit shaky

"Just curious... you seem young. Late 20s, early 30s, if I had to guess?"

"Well.. a lot of people think im 18 or early 20s. Because I'm petite but a bit rounder... chubby chubs." She smiles.

"But I'm 31."

He raised an eyebrow out of a bit of surprise, he definitely didn't expect her to be that age. She definitely looked pretty young. He shifted in his seat again, glancing around the car before his gaze returned to her

"31? You look younger than that."

She smiles again. "Yep. Genetics I suppose. I'm not american anyway."

His expression morphed into a bit of curiosity, he tilted his head a bit

"You're not American? You don't sound like you have an accent though..."

"Thanks. Well, English is almost a 2nd mother tongue in my country of origin."

He hummed, he wondered what her country of origin was. From what she was saying, she is bilingual at the very least. He shifted again in his seat, debating on asking another question

"You're from somewhere in Europe, I'm guessing...?"

"I kinda look European, don't i? But I'm not. I'm Asian."

He was a bit shocked to learn she is Asian. She definitely had the look of being of European descent, but apparently he was wrong.

"Asian? I didn't expect that..." He said quietly, still a bit surprised.

"Well.. our country was colonized by the Spanish for more than 300 years. Basically most of our ancestry has been tainted with Spanish genes..."

So that's why he thought she was European; her ancestors were colonized by the Spanish. He shifted a bit in his seat, feeling a bit silly now for assuming her ethnicity.

"I see... that makes sense..." He mumbled quietly. He paused for a moment, before another question came to his mind.

He glanced over at her once more, wondering if he should even ask the question he had in mind. He didn't want to come off as being too nosy or intrusive.

"You said your country was colonized by the Spanish... So I'm guessing you're Filipino...?"

"Nice job. How did you know?"

He chuckled, actually quite proud of himself for being able to figure it out, even if it was an educated guess.

"From what you said, your country was colonized by the Spanish, and you're Asian. So I took a guess based on the most likely answer. You're Filipino, correct?"
