Day 5 – A Smooth Morning Turns into Chaos
The family woke up to a sunny morning, ready for another day of fun. Carter seemed cheerful, nibbling on his teething ring as Malia prepared breakfast. Colby and Liam packed the beach bag while Caitlyn and Colleen played with their new sand toys.
At the water park, Carter loved splashing in the shallow pool with Malia while Colby tried to teach Liam how to swim. However, by mid-afternoon, Carter became fussy. He hadn't napped, and the heat was getting to him. "Let's call it a day," Colby said, scooping up a squirming Carter.
Back at the suite, Malia calmed Carter down with his bottle while Colby kept Liam busy. Caitlyn and Colleen, as usual, were perfect angels, coloring quietly at the table.
Day 6 – Pool Day Adventures
Day six was all about the resort's biggest pool. Carter enjoyed the floaty his parents brought, giggling as Colby gently pushed him around. Caitlyn and Colleen made friends with other kids at the pool, while Liam stubbornly refused to wear his swim shirt.
"Liam, we've talked about this," Colby said, trying to wrangle the shirt onto him. Liam threw a small tantrum, but Carter's happy squeals distracted everyone.
That evening, the family stayed in, ordering room service. Carter happily munched on mashed potatoes, while Liam demanded chicken nuggets.
Day 7 – Liam's Mischief
The morning started with Liam accidentally waking Carter by banging on the wall. Carter, still tired, started crying, which set the tone for a slightly chaotic day.
At the splash pad, Liam kept splashing Carter, causing him to scream in frustration. "Liam, stop! He's still recovering," Malia scolded, pulling Carter into her arms. Colby decided to take Liam aside for some one-on-one time, letting him burn off energy on the slides.
By evening, Carter was finally calm, snuggling with Colby and nibbling on his bottle while Malia bathed Caitlyn and Colleen.
Day 8 – A Scenic Day
The family took a short drive to a nearby nature trail for a change of pace. Carter enjoyed the stroller ride, pointing at birds and trees, while Liam complained about the bugs.
Colby carried Carter part of the way when he got fussy, letting him rest his head on his shoulder. Caitlyn and Colleen collected pretty rocks to show Malia, who praised their finds.
Back at the resort, Carter was surprisingly calm during dinner, sitting in his high chair and chewing on his teething ring while Liam made a mess with his spaghetti.
Day 9 – A Rainy Day Indoors
Rain kept the family indoors, but they made the most of it. Colby set up a mini scavenger hunt in the suite to keep Liam entertained, while Malia read stories to Caitlyn and Colleen.
Carter was content crawling around, occasionally nibbling on Liam's dinosaur toys, which caused some protests. "Carter, stop nibbling on everything," Colby said with a laugh, gently redirecting him with a teether.
The rainy day ended with a movie night, where Carter fell asleep in Colby's lap.
Day 10 to 12 – Family Fun
The next few days were filled with water park adventures, visits to local shops, and quality family time. Carter enjoyed floating in the lazy river with Malia, while Liam raced Colby down water slides.
One memorable moment was when Carter grabbed an ice cream cone from Colleen, smearing it all over his face. Everyone laughed as Malia quickly cleaned him up.
Day 13 – Carter's Tired Day
Carter woke up feeling fussy and tired, likely from all the excitement. Malia decided to keep him in the room for most of the day, letting him rest and recover.
Colby took the older kids to the pool, where Liam insisted on being the center of attention. "Daddy, watch this!" he yelled repeatedly, showing off his cannonballs.
Carter felt better by evening, cuddling with Malia and nibbling on crackers while watching cartoons.
Day 14 to 17 – Exploring Local Attractions
The family explored more of the area, visiting a nearby zoo where Carter was fascinated by the animals. Liam, of course, tried to feed the goats even when it wasn't allowed.
One day, they went to a beach, where Caitlyn and Colleen built sandcastles while Carter crawled around, grabbing fistfuls of sand. Malia and Colby took turns watching him closely, making sure he didn't eat any.
Day 18 – Liam's Meltdown
Liam threw a massive tantrum at the water park because he wasn't tall enough for a certain slide. Colby had to carry him kicking and screaming back to their lounge chairs.
Carter, meanwhile, was happily chewing on his teething ring, oblivious to the chaos. "At least one of them is calm," Malia said, patting Carter's head.
Day 19 – Packing Day
With the trip nearing its end, Malia started packing while Colby took the kids to the splash pad one last time. Carter was content in his stroller, watching Liam run around.
Back at the suite, Carter helped in his own way by pulling clothes out of the suitcase, making everyone laugh.
Day 20 – Farewell Dinner
The family celebrated their last night at the resort with a fancy dinner. Carter wore an adorable button-up shirt, sitting in his high chair and munching on breadsticks. Liam, as usual, made a mess, but Caitlyn and Colleen behaved like angels.
Day 21 – The Journey Home
The drive home was long but uneventful. Carter got fussy halfway through, so Colby pulled over to rock him back to sleep. Liam complained about being bored, but Malia kept him entertained with stories.
By the time they got home, everyone was exhausted but happy to be back in their own space. Carter babbled excitedly as Colby carried him inside, ready to settle back into their routine.
