Chapter 208

Colby knelt in the living room next to Carter's brand-new stroller, carefully unpacking the box and laying out all the parts. Malia watched from the couch, cradling Carter, who was nibbling on a teething ring and watching his dad with curious, wide eyes.

"Alright, buddy," Colby said, glancing over at Carter. "We're going to get you the best ride ever."

Carter gave a soft giggle, gnawing on the teether. Malia smiled. "I think he's excited about his new wheels," she said.

Colby worked quickly but meticulously, attaching the wheels, adjusting the seat, and double-checking the safety straps. Once the basic setup was complete, he began adding Carter's favorite touches.

"Let's make this fun," Colby muttered to himself, pulling out a few small toys he had picked earlier for Carter. He attached a soft dinosaur toy to the stroller's tray and clipped a colorful rattle to the side. Next, he tucked a small blanket with Carter's name embroidered on it into the seat and adjusted the sunshade.

"Don't forget his bottle holder," Malia reminded him.

"Already got it," Colby said, attaching the holder securely to the side. He stepped back to admire his work and looked at Carter with a grin. "What do you think, buddy? Ready for a test drive?"

Malia gently stood up, carrying Carter over. She placed him in the stroller and fastened the straps while Colby adjusted them to fit perfectly. Carter immediately reached for the dinosaur toy, giggling as he shook it.

"He looks so happy," Malia said, her voice warm.

Colby crouched down to Carter's level, patting the stroller's armrest. "This is going to make all our outings a lot more fun—and a lot smoother. Plus, now you'll have everything you need right here."

Carter cooed, his tiny fingers exploring the new additions. Malia ran her hand through Colby's hair. "You did a great job," she said.

"Anything for this little guy," Colby replied, standing up and kissing Carter's forehead.

As Carter continued to play with his new toys, Colby wheeled the stroller around the house for a little test. "Looks like it's a hit," he said with a chuckle, watching Carter giggle with excitement.

"Definitely," Malia agreed. "And knowing him, this stroller will be his little kingdom."

Colby smiled. "That's the plan."
