Aryamann's pov!
I drove around the outskirts of Chennai for a while, before going back to the hospital.
I needed some time to calm myself down after listening to Bhumi and the confrontation with Siddharth.
I looked at my watch and cursed myself seeing that I was already late.
Sammy must be shifted to the Private Intensive Care room by now. I quickened my steps and was welcomed with the shrill cries of a little boy.
Sammy? He is in pain?
I hurried to the room and found Sammy lying on the bed, with a cannula attached to his hand and a smug look on his face?
Why is he being so smug?
Abhi was crying his lungs out, and Bhumi was trying to control his cries.
"What happened? Why is he crying?" I asked frantically.
"He wants a cannula too," Bhumi said huffing in frustration and I stared at her in confusion.
"Cannula? Why would he need a cannula?" I asked, not understanding what the matter is.
"Abhi saw Sammy with the cannula. And he became fascinated by it. He asked the nurse who came in, if he could also have one. When the nurse laughed it off, he became angry and demanded he be given a cannula. Now he is stubborn about having it. And as soon as Sammy saw that, he became smug, as though having a cannula attached to his hand is something great." Bhumi huffed in irritation.
I looked around and saw that nobody was there. When I left the hospital a couple of hours ago, it was crowded with Mehrotras, Adanis and Kauras. Now nobody is seen.
I picked a thrashing and wiggling Abhi from Bhumi, and she visibly relaxed. She was definitely having a tough time controlling Abhi.
How did she manage alone for three years?
"Where did everyone go?" I asked loudly, so that she could hear me over Abhi's cries.
"Siddharth bhaiyya forced everyone to go back to the hotel. He said he would stay back and keep them updated. They will come by in the morning to meet Sammy." Bhumi said.
"Where is he then?" I asked with a frown.
"He went out to get something that could pacify Abhi," Bhumi said, shaking her head in tiredness.
As soon as she said that, a visibly panting Siddharth rushed into the hospital room.
"Oh dear, have you been running?" Bhumi asked in worry.
"I could hear Abhi's cries from the floor below," Siddharth said, taking a package out of its bag.
"What is it?" I asked.
"It's a doctor's play set. Hopefully, it has a cannula that could work for Abhi." Siddharth said and opened the package.
There were a dozen things inside the set. And finally, Siddharth took something that resembles a needle.
"There, you have it Abhi." Siddharth said in excitement and Abhi's cries reduced to hiccups, seeing the colourful thing in Siddharth's hand.
"Here, let me stick it on his hand." Bhumi took it from Siddharth and using a band aid, she stuck it on Abhi's hands.
Abhi grinned through his tears, seeing it.
"Now, come here and sleep with your brother." Bhumi said and laid Abhi next to Sammy.
Abhi started showing off his new colourful cannula to Sammy. Sammy was too tired to throw a tantrum. Soon, they both fell asleep.
Aryamann and Siddharth stepped out of the room, giving Bhumi some space to rest.
