my heart is my armor
she's the tear in my heart, she's a carver
she's a butcher with a smile, cut me farther
than i've ever been-tear in my heart, twenty one pilots

I stared at the tall building. Well, it wasn't a building, actually. It was a freaking castle. But not literally. It was a really tall building in the shape of a really cool and modern castle. The walls were black, and it looked like something out of 'Divergent.'
"So, why are we here?" He dragged me along, clinging onto my hand as we walked through crowds of - no one. The place was deserted; it was only me, Fate, and our feet tapping against tiles.
"I'm babysitting you, so you're going to be my shadow for the day. Sound good?" He slowed down, turning down a corridor and walking into a room of basic Death.
"Oh." I stopped, my eyes wide. "Why do I have to be in here though? I don't feel like getting picked up by the Grim Reaper."
"Nah, this isn't how you die." He took off his jacket, but paused and clutched his scythe. "You're not passing this soon."
"Well, someone's a little possessive. Be careful, don't leave me in the sun. I might melt." I chuckled at my Barbie doll reference, but quickly shut up after noticing the look he gave me.
"Just stay out of the way." He growled.

I pressed my face to the glass that separated me from the certain doom Fate was running through. He was getting shot at by religious creatures, what looked like demon frat boys, even wild dogs would come at him. But he didn't kill them, fortunately.
"Impressive, isn't he?" A feminine, high-pitched voice called from behind me.
"Hmm?" I turned around, looking down at the short man. "Wait, is this some sort of a demon convention for cosplayers?"
"No." He glared at me behind retro glasses. "He's the real-deal, if you ask me."
"And how is that?" I cocked an eyebrow, putting a hand on my hip.
"Well, he was in the Brethren of the Holy Trinity, of course. And he's a Fallen, now. What could be better?" He tossed his hands out. "He's the best weapon we could find. Although, we haven't been able to get him to unleash his full power."
"Why not? Oh wait, he's the most stubborn man alive." I turned back around, looking at him through the glass.
"He thrives off the fear, depression and negative feelings of those around him or inside a barrier he's placed."
"Is there anyone else like that?" I asked, keeping my eyes trained on Fate.
"There were three men in the Brethren of the Holy Trinity at the highest you could get. Below the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They were Lucifer, Death, and Fate. Lucifer was the General of the Father, Death was the General of the Son, and Fate the General of the Holy Spirit."
"Isn't Luci-"
"Shut up. I'm telling a story. Anyways," He poked me between the shoulder blades. "first, I fe- I mean, Lucifer fell. Then Death fell. And Hell made it's name by the time Fate finally fell from Heaven, and was named into the Brethren of the Tainted Spirit."
"Sounds like a bar. The Tainted Spirit."
"Remember that name, dear." He smirked, walking out of the room.
He almost said 'First, I fell.' Does that mean he's Lucifer? The Devil King?
When the strange man left the room, I waited a few minutes. Just standing there, not even paying attention to what was going on. It was only me and my thoughts. I knew the man had probably gone pretty far from where I was, so I walked into the corridor. White tile, white interior walls but black exterior walls. They really don't like color here.
I opened doors, looking inside the small rooms and seeing absolutely nothing. For a place as big as this, I'm disappointed. They don't even have ponies or a chocolate factory. Or Johnny Depp, but I wasn't expecting to see him here.
"Get your stubborn ass back into the training room." I hear Fate behind me.
"Oh, uh.." I turned around, staring straight at him with wide eyes. "I was just looking for the bathroom?" Wow, Elliott. Good job, that's probably one of the best excuses ever. Not.
"We both know that was a lie. Now, you can follow me back to where you're supposed to be, or we can do this the hard way."

"You didn't have to drag me there!" I whined.
"You chose not to follow like a good little girl, so we went the hard way." He crossed his arms, staring down at me. "Deal with it."
"Okay, okay.." I crossed my arms, glaring at the wall.
"Anyways, we gotta get you back home soon. It's almost the end of the school day." He walked over to the door, waiting on me to join him.
"It's creepy you know when school days are over." I was going to say 'pedophile' but didn't feel like dying today.
"Well, I've reaped a lot of souls from high schools and colleges." He said these words in a fashion to say 'I don't want to talk about it.'
