Trigger warning: mild panic attack, choking, blood play (which by the way is so dangerous for so many reasons, don't even try it—especially like they do)
The following morning, Lacy arrived at an LA recording studio she had been given the address of. They would record the intro for 'Bleeders' in no time at all. She was admitted at the entrance, handed the script and assured Erik would be with her shortly. Lacy took the opportunity to sit at a small corner table and read through the lines. Andy hadn't arrived yet and she wanted to get an understanding of what it would be. The script read:
[spoken]
Lacy: "So it is you."
Lacy: "Benjamin Barker"
Andy: "No not Barker, that man is dead."
Andy: "It's Todd now, Sweeney Todd."
Andy: "And he will have his revenge."
Lacy: Laugh Maniacally
Lacy loved the script, loved that it had been taken directly from the movie. She tried not to think too much about the laugh, she knew it would come if only she didn't overthink it. They were expecting sexy and slightly mad from her.
The door to the outside world opened and Andy appeared, he spotted her and smiled cheerfully at her, if a little awkwardly. Lacy understood him, she wasn't sure herself where they stood. Yes they'd had sex but neither was sure the situation would occur again and neither was sure the other one wanted it to. "Have you seen the script?" She asked him, simply to diffuse the tension, she sat up straight wanting to act professional.
"I chose it." he said, scrutinising her as he sat opposite.
"And you want me to be English? Not American to fit in with the band?" She asked, completely business-like.
"Yeah we'd like you to keep the tone of the original Sweeney." He said, folding his arms on the table, clearly following her lead.
"What kind of English?" She asked.
"Uh..."
"Like Helena Bonham-Carter does? With a London accent? Or a posher one? Or—"
"We'd like your own accent." He stopped her ramble and Lacy noted his carefully placed; 'we', even though the other band members weren't there. The door behind him into the recording booth opened but Andy carried on. "After all, that's why we wanted to use your voice in the first place." His tone was business-like too, but in the fathomless pits of his pupils a desire burned like a dark flame. Lacy had trouble looking away, she felt she was being sucked in. Erik Ron came out and greeted them both.
"Everything alright with the script?" Erik asked them, Lacy nodded and stood. "Good, come this way then." he beckoned them into the recording booth. Given Andy's blazing look, Lacy could tell he struggled with compartmentalising his life. To be part of one to him was to be part of everything else about him. Lacy felt unsure of herself, she never usually had casual sex, never really had relationships. And never had she had sex with someone she was working with. She didn't know the best way forward except to pretend they hadn't had sex in her hotel room.
Lacy and Andy were mic'ed up and seated in desk chairs facing each other. Erik was in the room adjacent to the recording booth, fiddling with a panel of instruments before him that they could see through the glass. He gave them a thumbs up and a red light flashed on above their heads. They began.
Andy leaned forward on his elbows so his face was close to hers, she could feel his warm breath on her neck, his face was slightly lower than her own, like it had been in the murder chair and when they'd had sex. Lacy read the first line; "so it is you." and followed it with: "Benjamin Barker?" Her breathless inquiry was less to do with her acting and more so with the fact that Andy's hand was making its way up her thigh. She knew the people in the next room couldn't see his hand but she felt he was being bold.
