It was Friday, the last day of filming for Lacy with Black Veil Brides on the Bleeders and My Friends shoot. Though now she had plenty of work lined up in America to keep her here until next Christmas. There was to be a celebratory dinner that evening with all crew involved in the making of the music videos. But before that they had the final scene to shoot, which was the dance scene.
Lacy tugged on her dress, which was long, cumbersome and overly frilly. She had prefered the other outfit, though this one was no less gorgeous. Lacy was once again turned into Mrs Lovett by the excellent job the hair, makeup and costume team had done. She walked the short distance from the makeup trailer to the studio, hoisting the dress up so wouldn't damage it and so focused was she on not tripping over that she didn't notice Andy sitting on the concrete steps, shrouded in shadow. He was already in his costume and smoking. "Recluse," she accused him teasingly, he smiled and offered her his cigarette, which she took a grateful pull of.
"Shall we go in, my lady?" he fake bowed to her and offered her his hand. She threw the last of the cigarette away and accepted his hand. They made their way into the filming studio.
They were instructed to take their starting pose, ready to start the dance but were once again made to stand around while the camera men lined up the shots and got everything ready around them. Lacy was watching the hustle and bustle around her, lost in the thought that this would be her last day on set. It was a minute before she was aware that Andy had eyes only for her. "Lacy," he said quietly, they were close enough that they wouldn't be overheard. "Now probably isn't the time but I have something I wanted to ask you." A technician adjusted Andy's arm for a moment and he stopped talking. "I'll wait until later tonight, that would be better. Did you have a few minutes after the dinner?" he asked her, Lacy frowned at him, he was being terribly formal all of a sudden and it scared Lacy, she felt wrong-footed. But before Lacy could answer David shouted over to them that they were ready and about to begin. Andy's expression that had been so intense and open a moment ago, closed off to a smooth mask of business.
The dance began and only Sweeney needed to sing this time. Andy mouthed the words as they twirled around. Lacy watched his lips, lips that only just a few days before she had seen dripping with her own blood. Though it wasn't just sex. Realising they had a blood kink in common had awakened something within Lacy. She felt more akin to him now than ever before. And suddenly her heart clenched thinking about how in a few short hours they business would be concluded for the time being and who was to say Andy would want to see her again, whose to say it would all carry on? Lacy wished to be something more to him than just someone he had the occasional sex with and she made up her mind to tell him as much later that night. But what was it he wanted to ask her? She could not think.
The dance scene needed a few takes and it was well into the afternoon before they finally wrapped up the filming. David announced the end of filming and everyone clapped. Lacy and Andy were immediately pulled off in different directions by the crew and band, congratulating everyone. Lacy was whisked off by Sophie and her friends to get rid of her makeup and together the group of girls got a taxi to the restaurant in which they were dining. Lacy was seated between all the makeup crew who had sort of adopted her over the past week. Champagne was served all round and Lacy snuck a glance up at the top of the table where Andy sat, surrounded by David and Erik and the other band members. He caught her eye and raised his glass in a toast to her, she raised her glass to him too.
Her attention was drawn back to her friends, Sophie tapped her on the shoulder, recalling her to the conversation and when she eventually looked back to Andy it was to see a waiter handing Andy a folded piece of paper. He read it quickly under the table and his eyes rose to meet Lacy's. His expression made her feel as though she had been plunged into ice cold water, it was of total, utter shock and bleeding betrayal. Lacy frowned at him questioningly, he looked back down at the note in his lap. Then tucked it into his pocket, cleared his throat , rolled his shoulders and engaged Lonny, who sat on his left, in conversation. He did not look down the table at her once.
