"flirting all night?! really?!" gabriella yelled, her hands gesturing wildly as she rounded the coffee table.

glenn shot up from the couch, his palms raised to shield himself, "it's not what you think—"

"true!" she cut him off. "apparently, everyone else thinks so too!"

gabriella lunged toward him, forcing glenn to dart around the other side of the couch. they circled like children playing a game of chase, though gabriella's
anger made it far less playful.

"what's going on?" nate's voice interrupted as he walked into the room, his brows knitting together at the sight of the chaos.

gabriella stopped abruptly, pointing at glenn. "he broke our friendship,"

nate turned to glenn, folding his arms. "what did you do now?"

glenn huffed, leaning against the couch, clearly worn out from the chase. "me and gracie ran into each other at a party, like, three days ago. we talked for five minutes—five!—and now it's plastered all over deuxmoi. she's losing it."

gabriella scoffed. "and whose fault is that?!"

"we literally just bumped into each other and said hi super awkward, i probably said something stupid cause I was nervous and she laughed."

gabriella drop herself to the couch. "bullshit."

nate was carrying a bag of food, setting it down on the coffee table before sinking into the middle seat of the couch. his presence was deliberate, a silent referee ensuring the chaos didn't escalate. he pulled out his phone, connecting it to the tv, the screen lighting up with spotify as he navigated to gracie's new album.

"are we actually doing this?" glenn asked.

"we're doing it," gabriella said, pacing in front of the couch before sitting down, her arms resting on her knees.

"great," nate muttered, scrolling through the tracklist. "first one's called felt good about you."

gabriella straightened up instantly. "wait," she said, holding up a finger. "we're going to analyze this. like, seriously. if you think anything's about me, annotate it on your phone. you both know the whole story."

glenn and nate exchanged glances and they nodded.

"okay. play."

nate tapped the screen, and the song began to fill the room. it was weird listening to an upbeat song coming from gracie.
