{A/N: This will be the last chapter of this story, I'm sorry. I just feel like it's gone downhill and it's not as good as it used to be. I'm going to work on my story I started but never even added a second chapter to. If ya'll really want I will make a sequel to this story, but you actually have to tell me lol. Anyways, I'll do my best to end it without a cliff hanger but you never know, I might be mean and end it there just so you will want another story because I really enjoyed writing this. Here goes.}
Dean's POV:
Dean woke up, cuddled next to Cas as always. Today was their last day of high school. After he graduated Dean wasn't sure what he wanted to do. Perhaps working for his uncle Bobby at his mechanic shop. He knew Cas was going to want to go to art school and work on his drawing and painting skills.
Dean was scared. What if Cas leaves me when he's away? What if he finds someone better? Dean shook his head, deciding to worry later. He showered then woke Cas, the sleepy teenager rolled over, pulling the covers with him.
Cas's POV
Today's the day. We're through with high school and all the shit it brings. What if Dean doesn't want to stay together because I'm leaving to art school? What if he cheats while I'm away? What if, what if, what if.
Cas could feel himself beginning to cry and he pulled the blankets over his head with a grumpy moan. His heart was sad and his mind was over thinking everything. Why did he do this to himself?
"I don't wanna get out of bed," he mumbled, though he knew it probably came out more like "Donwannagetoutofbed"
Dean laughed, tugging on the blankets, "Come one, sleeping beauty you've gotta get up."
"No I don't"
"Cas, if you don't get up I won't kiss you all day."
Cas was up in seconds. Literally, then he fell over because he had stood up too fast.
"Does this count as up?" he asked from his position on the floor, pulling blankets off his bed and onto him in a failed attempt to sleep some more. He didn't want this to end. he wanted to stay here, maybe get and apartment with Dean. He wanted to marry him and adopt a kid, maybe a dog? He wanted to grow old with him, but he doubted Dean would be able to stand him for that long.
"I guess, though you actually need to get dressed and go to school. It's only one more day," Dean said.
Cas grumbled and climbed up off the floor. Dean gave him a quick kiss before heading downstairs to help Gabriel cook breakfast. Dean loved cooking but he didn't tell people because he was kind of embarrassed about it, Cas loved to cook and that was great. But Dean had always been afraid to be anything but normal. He didn't even like that he was bisexual, but that he couldn't stop. Cooking he could at least hide under the "well, my family needs to eat so here I am" guise. Cas soon came downstairs and joined Sam at the table, ready to eat and go to school.
"Hey Cas, you alright?" Sam asked, noticing Cas was fidgeting a bit in his seat. Cas pulled at the edges of his sleeves and scratched a little as he did so, feeling the urge come back to him in a wave of powerful emotion that almost made him sick to his stomach.
"Yean, I just don't think I'm ready to leave high school yet."
"Why not?" Dean asked from where he stood, flipping a pancake over in the process.
"I'd rather not talk about it in front of everybody else, Dean."
Dean handed Sam the spatula he had been using and untied the TARDIS apron he had been wearing, laying it over the back of a chair as he walked by. He grabbed Cas's hand and led him into the other room, away from everyone else.
"What's up?"
"I'm scared, Dean. Yesterday I wasn't even allowed to be outside after 10, and tonight I have to decide where I want to live, and where I want to go to school, and take out loans, and get like six jobs to help pay them back. I have to pay taxes tomorrow. I mean I pay income tax anyway, but I now have to pay real taxes. I'm mostly scared I'm going to lose you."
"You're not losing me Cas."
~OoOoOoOoOoO~
Two years later and Cas was calling Dean, excited to share that he'd aced his art project. He'd painted his brother, Lucifer {I can't remember who's who lol I started this a long time ago and don't remember Cas's siblings, whatever. If they weren't before, they're brothers now} with beautiful white wings that arched around him, enveloping him in a sort of cocoon of white feathers. Castiel had fallen in love here at the art institute where he cooked as well as drew. He took other classes as well, the required ones, but he didn't enjoy them as much. He had painted his brother with patches of skin seemingly melting away saying "his soul is too powerful to be contained by his vessel" and impressing everyone in his class.
"Hey"
"Dean! Guess what!"
"You aced your art thingy, again."
Cas could hear the annoyance and eyeroll in his speech, his smile fading and his happiness leaving him dry and unhappy. His mouth was dry and he asked his boyfriend, "Is everything okay Dean?"
"I just feel like we always talk about the same things, Cas. You pass your art or cooking exams and I tell you about the cars I fixed this week. It's kind of boring."
Cas felt his heart crack a little, "I'm sorry my happiness no longer excites. I'm sorry that my joy in the simple things doesn't make you happy, Dean," and he hung up. He felt sad, depressed really. His happiness no longer mattered to Dean. The things that had kept Dean around for so long had also drove him away, how awful was that? How cruel life is to allow someone to get close to you for a reason and then take them away for the very same thing? How cruel, and how terrifying the thought was.
Cas began to cry to himself, his room mate out again for the night. He lay his head to the side and cried himself to sleep, his last thought being I knew this would happen. Nobody every wants to stick around me. Will he come back? Will there be more? I hope so, but I doubt it.
{I'm sorry this chapter was short and I'm sorry it kind of sucks but it's the end of this story, I hope you guys enjoyed it, let me know if you want a sequel!}
