Chapter 6

~Healing and a Troll Hoard~

Thorin's POV

After Edin stormed off, Fili and Kili came running into camp shouting about trolls. My first thought was if Edin was okay. I could not bear it if she for hurt because I drove her away.

We all ran towards the trolls with our weapons drawn. When we arrived, Bilbo was being interrogated by three of the ugliest trolls I have ever seen. Kili, being the reckless dwarf he is, charged into the clearing.

"Drop him!" Kili shouted.

"You what?" the troll holding Bilbo said.

"I said, drop him!"

Bilbo was then thrown at Kili, knocking them both to the ground. We all rushed into the clearing to attack the trolls.It was all going rather well until that blasted Hobbit got caught.

"Bilbo!" Kili exclaimed, preparing to charge the trolls holding Bilbo.

"No!" I growled, holding Kili back.

"Lay down your arms, or we'll rip his off." one of the trolls holding Bilbo said, tugging at the hobbit's appendages for emphasis.

I glare at the hobbit in frustration. Gandalf would kill me if I let his hobbit die. I stuck my sword in the ground, and the others followed.

That was about an hour ago. Now, we were either tied up in sacks or strapped to a spit being roasted over the fire. Luckily, I was in one of the sacks.

The trolls were talking about how to cook us when the hobbit gets up to tell them how to cook us properly. I was furious to say the least. How dare he join this company only to stab us in the back!

We all argued with the Hobbit. That is until he shot me an exasperated look. It took me awhile, but I finally realized that he was buying us time.

It was too late at that point. One of the trolls picked up Bombur. The troll was about to eat him when a knife came out of no where, striking the troll in the eye. He shouted in pain and dropped Bombur on top of us.

I caught my breath just in time to see a small figure flying around and attacking the trolls. Upon further inspection, I realized that it was Edin.

Wait a minute! Edin?! And she had wings?!

I was shocked at first, then I was mad. Why would she hide this from me? From us?

The rest of the company started to shout encouragingly as she fought the trolls. They also warned her when the trolls got very close to hitting her.

I watched in horror as a troll came up behind Edin and swung his fist. The company screamed warnings to her, but it was too late. The trolls hit her and she went flying into a tree. Her back hit the tree first, and I could see her wings bend at an awkward position. Edin screamed in utter agony before falling to the ground. I couldn't see if she was moving or not.

"Edin!" I shouted worriedly. My Edin, my sweet Edin, she was hurt and I could not get to her.

It was at this moment that Gandalf showed up.
