~Meeting the Company~

The trip to the Shire was uneventful for the most part. However, that changed when I arrived. I got there just as the sun was setting below the horizon, but I had a hard time trying to find the home of Mr. Baggins. I lost my way at least three times. It was not until the moon was high in the sky that I saw a glowing mark on a round, green door.

"I guess this is it..." I thought to myself.

I went through the small gate and walked to the door. My slightly pointed ears heard the sound of talking and moving furniture coming from inside.

I had no idea what this company would be like. I made sure that my wings were hidden before raising my hand to ring the doorbell.

I rang the doorbell and waited. There were some murmers from inside, and then I could hear a very frustrated voice head towards the door. I chuckled to myself, wondering what had gotten this person so riled up.

There was a loud thump of metal hitting the floor before the door opened to reveal a small hobbit, whom I presumed was Mr. Baggins. The hobbit looked very annoyed to be recieveing more company.

"Good evening! I am Edin, at your service!" I said, bowing in greeting to the hobbit.

"B-bilbo Baggins, at yours!" he replied, and bowed in return.

"It is nice to meet you, Mr. Baggins!" I said.

"Are you sure you're at the right house?" he asked.

"Of course, I am! Why wouldn't I be?" I said frowning at the hobbit.

"I'm s-so sorry! Where are my manners? Please, come in!" he said, stepping aside for me to enter.

"Thank you, Mr. Baggins!" I said as I walked in, wiping the mud off of my shoes before stepping inside.

He seemed pleased that I did not bring more mud into his house.

I smiled kindly at Bilbo. "You have a lovely home!" I said, looking around. I placed my things in the corner so that they were out of the way.

"Thank you!" he said.

He started to lead me into the house towards where the noise was coming from, but the doorbell rang before we got there.

He growled angrily and quickly stomped towards the door again. Being as curious as I am, I followed him.

"Oh no. No, no! There's nobody home. Go away, and bother somebody else. There's far too many dwarves in my dining room as it is. If- if- If this is some clotterd's idea of a joke, ha ha, I can only say, it is in very poor taste." he yelled angrily.

I stand off to the side as he opens the door, and it was a good thing I did. When he opened the door, eight dwarves fell inside. I found it quite amusing as they struggled to get up while yelling at each other.Gandalf stepped in behind the dwarves. He looked as amused as I was.

"Gandalf." Bilbo sighed, but he was quickly distracted by the dwarves.

"Gandalf!" I said happily as I moved to greet him.

Meanwhile, Bilbo was busy with the dwarves as they raided his pantry. Luckily none of them noticed my presence yet.

"Ah! Edin, my dear! I'm so glad that you made it!" Gandalf said when he saw me.
