Clove's POV

I walked around my room. What to wear, what to wear. Tonight is the Victory Tour Ball and me and Cato are going together. I found a dress to wear a few weeks ago. It is long and emerald green with a strap across one shoulder. It fits me perfectly and I really feel beautiful when I am wearing it. It's about four so I'm starting to get ready. I take a shower, being sure to wash out all of the dirt under my nails. Even though Cato already loves me I still want to look my best. I step out of the shower and stick on some shorts and a shirt. Then I begin to work on my hair and makeup. I do a natural look with pink lips. My hair is an elegant braid going into a side bun. I put in a clip that belonged to my mother.

If only she could see me know. Strong. Independent. And even though she wasn't there for most of my childhood I believe she made me into the person I am today. Without her in my life I learned to tough it out and push through. I learned that you can't always depend on others to be there. Sometimes I miss my mom, but then I remember that everything happens for a reason.

I hear a knock in the door, must be Cato. I walk down the stairs and open the door. I am tackled with a giant hug from you know who.

"Cato, I can't breath." I croak.

"Oh sorry, you look beautiful Clover." He says while smiling down at me. He is carrying a corsage with white flowers in his hand. He presents it to me saying

"For you. Now shall we be off?"

"Haha thank you. Such a gentlemen, sounds good to me," I reply. We walk down the streets of district two and over to the Justice Building where the ball will take place. We walk in hand and hand, socializing with other kids from the training center. All while receiving deadly glares from Dustin and Angel. I don't know why but their glares are giving me a terrible feeling. Oh well, time to have some fun. No need to worry, I have my boy. Cato walks up to me, kisses my hand and ask,

"May I have this dance?"

Cato's POV

Clove and I waltz around the dance floor, tripping over each other. I mean what do you expect? We don't dance, we train, all the time. We begin to laugh as we stumble across the floor. Making our way off, we walk over to the garden to enjoy the lights and flowers. I pick her up and spin her around. Just as I was going to kiss her, Dustin and Angel appear in front of us. They ask to speak to us separately. Me and Clove go opposite ways. She looks nervous as I go off with Angel and I feel the same way as she walks off with Dustin.

"So Cato, how are thing with you and Clove?"

"Well, we're doing great. Thanks," I say. She lets out a small chuckle. She mutters something that I think sounds like, not for long. Woah.

"Angel, what's the real reason you wanted to talk with me?"I ask.

"Lets just say it needed to be done, I wanted to spend some time with you while Dustin talks to Clove." She said.

"Why did Dustin need to talk to Clove?" I ask.

"Cato, stop worrying. You can't ALWAYS protect her." Angel says, smiling and laughing at the same time. I have a terrible feeling about this entire thing.

"CATO!!! CATO!!!" I hear a voice screech.

It's Clove.
