I stared at the white print again and again, blinking rapidly like it was all an illusion. All smoke and mirrors playing tricks on my mind and eyes. Like at any moment the words would change into something else in the blink of an eye to reveal its true nature and self. I willed myself to look away from the white print to rather look at L/n. She was staring at the text, eyes widened in shock and confusion with her brow furrowed, like she too didn't belive it even with the proof right there in front of her. I

 gave an uncertain and half nervous laugh. 

"𝘚𝘰𝘰𝘰𝘰 uhm... about our little 𝘣𝘦𝘵?" I asked her. 

No response. I

 clicked my tongue and sighed when I realized that she probably wasn't "here" right now. She was most probably processing the shit out in her "mind space" slash head. '𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘪𝘴𝘯'𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 best 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘵 𝘶𝘱...' I bit my lip to restrain myself to blurt out more things about the bet. 

"I'm going to change into something to sleep in. Uhh... you should too. We're starting work tomorrow. I want to get enough sleep without your lamp still on while you're reading more of Yin's books you packed in." 

She nodded absent-minded, though I was certain she wasn't really "here" thus I highly doubted that she heard me completely. I grabbed some shorts from the closet and a loose black shirt before I went into the bathroom, shutting the door closed and I lent with my back against it. 

'𝘈𝘮 𝘐 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘰𝘳 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 really 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯?' 

I rubbed my eyes and changed into the clothes I took, shaking my head every now and then when I saw the image of the Japanse words "犬のユニット" that was printed on the police uniform. 

I quickly reopened my eyes and rubbed them with my knuckles. I put my dirty clothes into a laundry basket that stood in the far left corner of the room after I took them off. I changed into some shorts and a loose fitting shirt with the words: "99% 𝚜𝚞𝚛𝚎 𝙸'𝚖 𝚊𝚠𝚊𝚔𝚎" printed in English on the front. 

I chuckled at the words. '𝘍𝘶𝘤𝘬. 𝘒𝘢𝘪 𝘒𝘰𝘴𝘬𝘪 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘴𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘱-𝘥𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘨𝘶𝘺.' I stopped myself before I opened the door. '𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘦'𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘺 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨. 𝘋𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘭' 𝘛𝘰𝘶𝘺𝘢 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 "less than ashes" 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘰𝘯...' So I knocked on the door. 

"May I come out or are you still changing?" I put my ear to the door, hearing a loud thud and a groan. 

"𝘖𝘸! Just a minute!" I

 chuckled as I remembered the time I had said that exact words while she was the one on the other side of the door. 

'𝘖𝘩 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘥...' I heard her footsteps walking the short distance towards the door just before it stopped. I was about to move away from leaning my head and ear against the door before L/n opened it. Well I was too late. Just as I pushed away from the door, the door opened and I almost fell forward and onto L/n.
