STRAIGHT FROM LAST CHAPTER

Max snapped out of it finally, Rue, Robin, Bea, and Nancy arrived. They all stood in the hallway, "It was here. Right here!" Max told them.

She had gone into some kind of trance, and apparently she saw some kind of clock... a grandfather clock, in the very wall they were standing in front of. It wasn't there, it looked perfectly normal besides a few cobwebs and chipped paint.

"A grandfather clock?" Nancy reaffirmed.

"It was so real." her voice shook, "And then, when I got closer, suddenly I just... I woke up."

"It was like she was in a trance for something." Dustin described it to them.

"Exactly what Eddie and Rue said happened to Chrissy." Aubrey realized.

Max turned around and looked at them, "That's not even the bad part." she said.

"What do you mean?" Beatrice questioned. She led them back into Ms. Kelley's office.

"Fred and Chrissy, they both came to Miss Kelley for help." Max told them, "Uh, they both were having headaches, bad headaches, that wouldn't go away."

Beatrice looked at her funny, "Where are you going?" she laughed, "We have first period together, we always have."

"Oh, shit, yeah. That's right, I'm sorry." she shook her head, "I don't know, I've got this gnarly headache, I just totally blanked for a second." she explained as she and Beatrice walked together.

"And then... then the nightmares."

Aubrey was standing in the lab. Not just any lab, the Russian one they had been trapped in last summer. She was standing behind her mom as she held the two buttons, her arms stretched as far as they could.

She looked up and her dad was behind the glass, standing next to the giant laser, in front of the gate. Blood on his face, tears in his eyes as he gave her mother the nod of approval.

Aubrey couldn't do anything, she was frozen. She tried to yell, "No!" or "Stop!" but her mouth would open and words wouldn't come out. Her mom did it, the laser exploding and her dad now, no where to be seen.

"Trouble sleeping." She continued, Aubrey could feel Steve's eyes on her.

"They'd wake up in a cold sweat."

She shot up in her bed, breathing heavily. "Hey, hey, you alright?" Steve had woken up, sitting up beside her, placing a hand on her back.

"And then they started seeing things." she continued. But Aubrey had seen anything. She hadn't seen this Vecna guy, or the grandfather clock, "Bad things. From their pasts."

She had flashbacks from time to time, but nothing where she was put into a trance like Max was.

"They kept on getting worse and worse, until eventually... everything ended." Max said.

"Vecna's curse." Robin replied.

"Chrissy's headache started a week ago. Fred's six days ago. I've been having them for five days." she confessed.

Another thing that didn't make sense, Aubrey's had been happening for months now. Based on this logic, she should already be dead.
