THE NEXT DAY

Aubrey woke up slowly, but once she saw a figure standing directly in front of her face she was wide awake, "Jesus!" she yelled, before realizing it was just Eleven.

She sat up, "What are you doing?"

"I need help." The girl held up a white sheet, "Ghost." she said, "Need to cut... holes."

Aubrey thought for a moment, then understood what she meant, "You want to be a ghost? Like for Halloween?" Eleven nodded, "Okay, uh, give me a second."

Aubrey stood up and walked over to her desk, opening a drawer and grabbing a pair of hair scissors from when she gave herself bangs, "Here." she motioned for El to hand her the sheet.

She threw the sheet over El's head, to make sure she would cut the right spot. "Okay." she took it and cut two holes.

She threw it on El again, smiling. "Perfect."

"Thank you." Eleven replied and walked out of her room.

Aubrey followed behind her quietly, Hopper stood at the stove, making some eggs, unaware of El creeping behind him.

He finally turned around, "Oh, Jesus!" he yelled, scared as shit. Aubrey broke into a fit of laughter, bending over and holding her stomach as she hollered.

"Yeah, real funny." Hopper shook his head.

"Ghost." Eleven said.

"Yeah, I see that." He replied, Aubrey's laughter died down as she sat at the table.

"Halloween." Eleven spoke again.

"Sure is." He replied, putting a piece of french toast onto each plate, "But right now, it's breakfast, okay? Come on, let's eat."

"They wouldn't see me."

"Who wouldn't see you?" he questioned.

"The bad men." she said.

"What are you talking about?" he replied, carrying their plates over to the table.

"Trick or Treat." she said.

Hopper looked between her and Aubrey, "You wanna go trick-or-treating?" he stood up then, "You know the rules."

"Hopper..." Aubrey spoke.

"Yes, but—" El replied.

"Yeah, so you know the answer." He held her by her shoulders.

"No, but they wouldn't see me."

"No. Hey. I don't care." he said to her, leaning down to her eye level, "I don't care, all right? You go out there, ghost or not, it's a risk. We don't take risks. All right?" He said to her, Aubrey, sighed, rolling her eyes. "They're stupid, and..."

"We're not stupid!" She replied, sternly.

Hopper stared at her, "Exactly. Now, you take that off, sit down and eat. Your food's getting cold." he went and sat back down.
