"Tonight, I want the world to see the two people who mean everything to me-my reason to fight and my reason to hope."

~ Lee Heeseung

As the days passed, Heeseung's confession seemed to unlock a new level of openness between us. He began to share his thoughts, feelings, and experiences with me, and I found myself drawn to his vulnerability. Our afternoons were now filled with laughter and conversation, as Heeseung, Rowoon, and I spent hours together, cooking, watching movies, and just enjoying each other's company.

I was amazed by the depth of Heeseung's schedule, which left me wondering how he managed to keep up with his demanding workload. But as he began to ease his burden, I saw the toll it had taken on him. His exhaustion was evident, but he refused to give up. Instead, he reorganized his priorities, taking necessary breaks to recharge.

One evening, as we sat together, Heeseung mentioned an upcoming masquerade ball hosted by our friend Park Jay, a renowned figure in the fashion industry. Jay had invited Heeseung as a special guest to perform, and Heeseung was struggling to choose the perfect song. Jay's advice was to opt for a slow, soft lofi track, considering the ball's romantic atmosphere.

Heeseung's eyes sparkled as he asked me to accompany him to the ball. "Everyone will be with their partners," he said, "and I'll be alone." I couldn't resist his charming smile, but I did warn him that I might arrive late due to my prior commitments. Heeseung understood, and we decided that Rowoon would join us as well, since he had already eavesdropped on our conversation and was throwing tantrums to attend.

As we finalized our plans, Heeseung shared some disturbing news: his father had already selected a potential bride for him and was pressuring him to attend the ball with her. Heeseung's expression turned cold, and I could sense the resentment he felt towards his parents. It was clear that they had never truly understood him, only using him to further their own interests. I reached out, taking his hand in mine, and he gave me a grateful smile.

In that moment, I knew that I had to be there for Heeseung, to support him through the challenges that lay ahead. The masquerade ball was just the beginning, and I was determined to stand by his side, no matter what.

The day of the ball arrived faster than I anticipated. I was on my way home, where I knew a bundle of energy was waiting for me, brimming with excitement to get ready and attend the masquerade ball. Rowoon, my little partner for the evening, had been counting down the days to see his "Dada" perform. Mind you, Rowoon is an unapologetic papa's boy.

Heeseung had already informed me that his suit had been delivered directly to his office, and he would head straight to the ball from there. That left just Rowoon and me to prepare together, though I had no doubt he'd have plenty of opinions about my outfit, as always.

Speaking of the outfit, the dress I planned to wear was handpicked by Heeseung himself. The memory of the day we bought it still made me smile. Heeseung had insisted on accompanying me shopping, claiming he had "an impeccable fashion sense." Of course, his main goal seemed to be throwing pickup lines at me while making dramatic gestures about how the dress was made for me.
