Damon had always imagined walking across the stage with his brother, the final step, graduation. Taking that step with his twin, his best friend, walking into adulthood together, the two of them came into this world together, and they were going to continue going through life that way.The elder Swan twin sat in the front porch, his graduation cap in his hand, and couldn't help but stare at it. His dad had gotten him a robe because if you asked Charlie, he always knew both his sons would graduate.
He couldn't help but smile as he thought back to last night.
All the seniors had been sent emails last night regarding if they would pass or not, and Damon was lucky enough to have been given one that passed him.
The twins were sitting in their beds, Hardin reading his book the latest one being called the hunger games. Apparently, it had only come out this year. While Damon was watching the dark Knight, the movie had come on TV.
His phone went off, and he was quick to reach for it, thinking it would be Rosalie back from her hunt. Although to his disappointment, it was an email from the school.
"Holy shit." Damon spoke up, leaning forward up in bed looking down at his phone. "Holy shit." He muttered as he scrolled down the email.
Hardin looked over at him. "What's wrong? Are you okay?" He questioned, wondering why his brother was swearing as he looked down at his phone.
Damon stood up from his bed, walking back and forth, making sure he read the email right. Hardin put his book down, keeping his eyes on Damon, making sure the boy didn't suddenly break their tv.
The elder twin passed his phone to Hardin. "Read it." Damon waved his hand at Hardin before he went back to biting his nails.
Hardin nodded his head, humming as he read down the email. He couldn't contain the smile on his face and the pride that shone in eyes at the fact Damon had graduated.
As soon as Hardin had finished the email, he looked up at Damon, throwing the phone on the bed. "Fuck yeah!" Hardin lifted Damon up of the floor in a large hug laughing.
Damon's laughter blended with his.
Being able to celebrate that moment with his brother meant everything to him. "Hey." Damon looked up to see his dad coming out the door.
"Hey." Damon watched as he sat down beside him on the porch steps. "Everything okay?"
Charlie looked up at him. "You want me to be honest?" Damon nodded his head. "I'm over the moon that my two boys are graduating. I'm so proud of you both, having watched all the effort the two of you have put into working on yourselves and studying."
Damon nodded at his words, letting his dad continue.
"But I'm also scared that once my two sons graduate, they'll go off to get big jobs, marry a beautiful woman and a handsome man, and forget about me." Charlie admitted, his chest felt tight as he spoke the words. "I know I wasn't there a lot these past couple of years, but please don't forget me when you go off and get a big deal job."
