" You went directly behind my back. You stole a quinjet and roped Pietro into it! You went to that Hydra base after I specifically told you not to!" Natasha scolded, her eyebrows furrowed," Do you not understand? You are still recovering! You could've gotten yourself killed!"

" But I didn't! I had it handled! Could you have told me that you would've gone back there? El needed help and no one was going to give that to her!" Ana shouted, her temper flaring.

It had been that way since she had gotten back. The second they all knew Elliana would be okay Natasha took it as her chance.

" We would've gone back,"

" When? After she was brainwashed? You made no move! You didn't care enough. Some hero you guys are."

Ana stormed off, not waiting for her sister's reply.

She sighed, staring at her friend. El hadn't moved since she had passed out. If it wasn't for the steady rise and fall of her chest she would have thought the girl was dead.

Her skin was pale and her body scarily thin. Bruises littered her body and two of her ribs were broken. On top of that, whatever that scientist injected had caused an overdose.

" Heh, and you always said I look like shit," Ana mumbled, a small smile on her face.

The door opening startled the girl, making her jump. She sent a glare in that direction, hoping it wasn't Natasha.

It wasn't. It was Clint. He didn't say a word as he walked by, sitting in the chair next to her.

" Are you here to lecture me too?" the girl questioned.

" No, I'm actually here to visit an old friend," he replied. Giving her an awkward smile.

" Sorry, it's been a long day."

She had forgotten about the history between El and Shield. It was a period of time where she thought the girl was dead.

" You did good, kid," Clint praised," Especially after being out of the field for so long."

" Yeah, well Natasha doesn't think so," Ana mumbled, crossing her arms.

" Natasha is protective. To her you're still her baby sister, she just doesn't want to see you get hurt."

" So she'll let someone else suffer? How is that okay?"

" I'm not saying it is. We're all human, Ana. We all make mistakes."

The girl stayed silent, not knowing how to reply to that. She knew exactly how easy it was to make the wrong choice.

She felt a hand on her knee, looking in the direction it came from. Clint gave her a reassuring smile, before leaving the room.

Elliana's POV-

She had no idea where she woke up, but she knew her head was pounding. It felt like someone had taken a hammer to her temple.

She let out a groan as her eyes opened, bringing her hand up to shield the light.

" Hey, you're finally up," a familiar voice spoke, her tone relieved.

El looked to her side, meeting eyes with Ana. She looked tired, her face pinched in worry. Still, she was as gorgeous as ever.

" Yeah, I'm up. Where are we?" she questioned, her mind groggy.

" We're at the Avenger's compound. I got there right in time,"

" My hero,"

Ana laughed, her eyes lighting up. For a moment it was almost easy to forget what had happened.

Her hand went to the side of her head, feeling the short shave. It seemed stupid that's what bothered her. She had almost been wiped and she was worried about her hair.

A hand grabbed her wrist, making the girl tense up. She looked to see Ana, confused on why she would do that.

" It'll grow back faster than you think. I think it looks badass any way," the red head spoke, giving her a sly smile.

" They never shaved your head," El replied, looking at the ground.

" They never cared enough to. If my hair got in the way it would just be another thing to cause me pain,"

Ana's POV-

She didn't know what else to say. It was a tough subject. She knew El meant nothing by it, but it didn't stop the memories from trying to resurface.

" I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that," Elliana spoke, her voice quiet.

Ana took the girl's hand in hers, giving it a gentle squeeze.

" It's fine, I get how recovering can feel," Ana said," It makes you feel helpless, but you aren't. You're going to get back on your feet in no time."

" You sound so sure of it."

" That's because I am. It might take longer than you want, hell you'll probably hate every second of it, but you'll recover."

* I just wanted to give whoever reads this an update and let y'all know I'm actively writing for this story again. I had a rough patch moving into college and getting settled but I'm finally in a position to focus on updating.
