" Look, I really don't think exploring the market is the safest of options right now," Ana spoke.
" Relax okay. I need to get a few things, and I don't trust you enough to leave you alone in my apartment," Barnes replied, walking through the crowd of people.
" Oh geez, what am I going to steal your well-used teapot? Or how about the rug that has seen at least one murder in its day."
" I don't have to let you stay. I'm sure you'll do fine running from the US Government by yourself."
Ana crossed her arms, letting out a huff like a child would. This is how it had been for the last three days staying with Barnes. They were both incredibly stubborn and refused to give up.
Well on most things.
" Fine, whatever. Get your stupid plums I know you're here for and let's go," she spoke, already walking away from him.
The market was a small little cluster of shops by the apartment building. A few businesses had enough money to rent the buildings surrounding it, but most sellers set up tables and awnings.
Ana walked over to a jewelry stand, looking in awe at the handmade creations.
One piece in particular stood out to her. A necklace made out of a dainty gold chain, embellished with pearls and an angel wing at the center of it.
It was beautiful. Something she wished she could afford. She hadn't brought any money with her and unfortunately, she wouldn't be able to justify it anyway.
" Ești interesat?" the seller asked, giving the girl a warm smile. (Are you interested?")
" Nu, nu am bani," Ana replied, letting out an embarrassed laugh. (No, I don't have any money)
" Ia-l," (Take it)
" Nu am putut" ( I could not)
" I insist,"
The woman handed the necklace to Ana, cupping her hand around it tightly as a sign she wanted her to have it. Ana smiled at the woman, gratitude on her face.
She was about to say thank you when Bucky approached her, grabbing her arm. She was going to argue when he turned back to her, panic on his face.
" We have to go now," he spoke, ignoring the looks of everyone around him.
Ana did not expect Steve Rogers to be standing in Bucky's apartment when they got back. He seemed to be talking to someone through coms.
He turned around, looking shocked once he noticed she was there. She gave him a small smile, awkwardly waving.
" Ana? What the hell are you doing here?" Steve questioned.
" You didn't know? I've been on the run for a few days now," Ana replied, filling the man in.
" Right Ross,"
Unease settled in Ana's stomach, making her feel nauseous. Something was going to happen soon, she could feel it.
She hadn't even realized the two men in the room had started their own conversation.
" I wasn't in Vienna. I don't do that anymore," Bucky spoke, his tone sincere.
" Well, the people who think you did are coming here now. And they aren't planning on taking you alive, either of you," Steve replied.
" Hold on, what the hell did I do? What the hell happened in Vienna?" Ana questioned, starting to get pissed off.
Before anyone had the chance to explain a grenade came flying in from the window. Bucky tossed it towards Steve, who used his shield to cover the blast.
