To say she was disoriented was an understatement. Her head was pounding and her eyes felt like lead.
Ana tried to stretch, but her arm was restricted. She opened her eyes to find her wrist cuffed to the bed she was lying in.
" You're awake," El spoke, walking over to the girl," But who's in control right now?"
" What?" Ana questioned, confused.
She had no idea what was going on. The girl looked over to see Wanda, a frightened expression on her face. She was scared of her.
Both of her arms were bandaged, one thicker than the other. She looked tired, like she hadn't slept.
It was then that she realized what had happened.
" No, no, no, this can't be happening," Ana cried, her breaths getting short," I hurt you, didn't I? This wasn't supposed to happen."
Her breaths turned into pants as her lungs got heavier, tears forming in her eyes. She tried to bring her hand to her ears, the cuffs tugging at her wrist. She continued to pull, ignoring the pain.
A hand grabbed her wrist, making her turn towards them. Elianna looked at her with concern, a frown on her face.
" Stop it, you're going to hurt yourself," she scolded," You're okay."
" Where's Pietro? Is he okay?" Ana questioned, not seeing him anywhere.
" He's taking a moment to cool down," Wanda answered, walking closer," Why didn't you tell us?"
Ana knew what she meant, turning her head away in shame. It was hard to look someone who was practically her sister in the face and explain why she had kept secrets.
" Hydra didn't create Angel, I did. I was worried about what you guys would think. And when we volunteered they made sure to use anything they could to get me to be their weapon."
" Hold on, what do you mean Hydra didn't create Angel? You're telling me that you've had a murderous alter ego this entire time?"
" No! It was never this bad before. After I escaped the Red Room I started hearing a voice, my own, spout bad thoughts. All the training I went through didn't just disappear, Wanda. When Hydra noticed these episodes they used it to their advantage. Strucker had a whole team of scientists perform a surgery that made those thoughts more prevalent. Eventually, he implanted words into my head and a new person was made. It doesn't make me happy, or bring me joy. It is a curse, one I have to worry about every day."
Ana felt herself being pulled into a hug, turning to see Wanda's expression. Tears lined her eyes, her bottom lip quivering.
" You should have told us," Wanda spoke, her voice wavering.
" I'm sorry,"
Ana shut her door, letting out a sigh of relief. She had spent some time coming clean and it felt like a weight lifted off of her shoulders.
Until she saw Pietro sitting on her bed, a frustrated expression on his face.
" If you're going to yell at me please just get it over with, I just want to be alone," she spoke, running her hand through her hair.
" Ana you don't get what happened last night. You attacked my sister! She won't say it, but she has severe burns down one of her arms and cuts on the other. If I hadn't knocked you out, who knows what else you would've done. I thought we were done keeping secrets from each other!" the boy screamed, his face turning red in anger.
" I'm sorry, okay! I didn't know my words could be triggered in my sleep."
" So you're not going to take responsibility? You're going to blame everything on Hydra again!"
