The amusement park was already alive with excited screams and laughter when Seokmin and Jisoo arrived. They expected a fun day together, but the moment they spotted Soonyoung at the gate with his two kids, Dino and Sunoo, they knew their plans were about to take a sharp turn.

"Thank you so much for this!" Soonyoung grinned widely, shoving Dino and Sunoo toward Seokmin and Jisoo before they could even say hello.

"Wait, what?" Seokmin blinked, holding Sunoo, who immediately latched onto him like a koala.

"Jihoon and I need a day for ourselves," Soonyoung said, giving them an exaggerated pout. "You know, to rekindle the romance.”

“Seriously?” Jisoo gawked at him. “You’re just dumping them on us?”

“You’ll be fine!” Soonyoung chirped, already backing away. “Dino listens well to you, and Sunoo...well, he’s cute. Have fun!” With that, he disappeared into the crowd, leaving them standing there in stunned silence.

The chaos started almost immediately.

“I want to go on the rollercoaster!” Dino announced, tugging on Seokmin’s sleeve.

“That one?” Seokmin looked up at the towering ride, his stomach flipping. “Are you sure? It’s kind of—”

“I’M GOING!” Dino declared, already marching toward the line.

Meanwhile, Sunoo had decided he didn’t want to walk anymore and was now clinging to Seokmin’s leg like a barnacle. “Carry me!”

“Sunoo, you’re not a baby,” Jisoo said, trying to pry him off. Sunoo responded by sticking his tongue out and burying his face in Seokmin’s shirt.

“Great start,” Jisoo muttered as they followed Dino.

Things didn’t get better after the rollercoaster. Dino loved it but wanted to go on again, while Sunoo demanded cotton candy. When they finally got Sunoo his treat, he promptly dropped it on the ground and burst into tears.

“It’s okay, we’ll get you another one,” Jisoo said, crouching down to comfort him.

“No!” Sunoo sobbed. “That one was special!”

“How?” Seokmin asked, bewildered. “You just got it.”

“It just was!” Sunoo wailed louder, attracting the attention of every passerby.

At the arcade, Dino discovered the claw machine and insisted on trying it, dragging Sunoo along. The younger boy got frustrated when he couldn’t win anything, and Seokmin ended up spending nearly an hour and a small fortune trying to get a stuffed animal for him.

“I swear this thing is rigged,” Seokmin grumbled as he inserted yet another coin.

“Just one more!” Sunoo said, his big eyes shimmering with determination.

Jisoo leaned against the wall, stifling laughter. “You’re a sucker for kids, you know that?”

“Not funny,” Seokmin shot back, but the smile tugging at his lips betrayed him. When he finally won the toy—a tiny stuffed bear—Sunoo cheered so loudly that people nearby clapped.

“Worth it?” Jisoo teased as Seokmin handed Sunoo the bear.

“Ask me later,” Seokmin muttered, wiping sweat off his brow.

By midday, Dino and Sunoo were unstoppable forces of chaos. Dino raced from ride to ride, insisting he could go alone (he couldn’t), while Sunoo declared every other attraction “boring” unless it involved food or prizes.

The real trouble came when they reached the water rides.

“I don’t have a change of clothes,” Jisoo said warily as Dino and Sunoo begged to go on the log flume.

“Neither do I,” Seokmin admitted.

“Please!” Dino pleaded, bouncing on his toes.

“Fine,” Jisoo relented with a sigh.

The ride ended with both of them completely drenched, Jisoo glaring daggers at Seokmin. “I blame you for this.”

“How is this my fault?” Seokmin protested, wringing out his shirt.

“You’re the one who didn’t say no!”

Their argument was interrupted by Sunoo splashing in a nearby puddle and laughing uncontrollably.

By the time the sun began to set, both kids were finally slowing down. Dino was sticky from cotton candy and chocolate, and Sunoo had fallen asleep in Seokmin’s arms, clutching his stuffed bear.

“I don’t know how Soonyoung does this,” Seokmin said as they made their way toward the exit.

“He doesn’t,” Jisoo replied. “He just passes them off to us.”

Despite the chaos, there was an undeniable warmth in the air. As Seokmin looked at Jisoo, who was now smiling softly at the sleeping Sunoo, he realized something: even in the middle of the madness, this felt right.

And maybe, just maybe, he wouldn’t mind doing it all over again.
