A few days later, Seokmin decided it was time. With the support of the guys, he meticulously planned the proposal in Jihoon’s living room, where everyone had gathered for what was supposed to be a peaceful evening. Jihoon had taken charge of the ambiance, lighting candles like he was auditioning for a commercial about romance, while Mingyu—clearly the world’s most enthusiastic wedding photographer—was filming the whole setup with his phone, blocking everyone’s view with his arm like he was about to announce a winner at a beauty pageant.

Seokmin, visibly sweating in his “romantic moment” moment, took a deep breath, got down on one knee, and looked up at Jisoo, who was already tearing up, fanning his face dramatically like he was about to receive an Oscar.

“Jisoo, will you—”

“AHHHHHHHHHH!” Jeonghan suddenly let out a yelp so loud it could’ve rivaled a horror movie scream. The entire room froze as everyone turned to look at him. Jeonghan, clutching Seungcheol’s arm with a grip that was borderline life-threatening, was writhing on the couch.

“What the hell is going on?” Soonyoung shouted, his panic spreading faster than a viral TikTok trend.

“I’M IN LABOR, YOU IDIOTS!” Jeonghan snapped, his voice cutting through the room like a chainsaw. “MY WATER BROKE FIVE MINUTES AGO, BUT NO ONE NOTICED BECAUSE SEOKMIN WAS TOO BUSY TRYING TO BE ALL ROMANTIC!”

The room erupted into complete chaos. Mingyu, who had been filming the whole thing, dropped his phone in shock, while Jihoon, looking far too calm for the situation, started yelling instructions to grab the car keys like this was a perfectly normal Tuesday. Soonyoung just stood there, repeating, “Oh my god, oh my god,” over and over, like his kids came out of sky and it's first time seeing someone in labour.

Jisoo, however, stood up, threw his arms in the air, and scowled. “Seriously, Jeonghan? RIGHT NOW? You couldn’t have waited five more minutes? I was about to have my moment! My ENGAGEMENT moment!”

Jeonghan, his face contorted in pain, shot a look at Jisoo like he was about to launch a sneak attack. “EXCUSE ME? You think your stupid proposal is more important than ME BRINGING A HUMAN INTO THIS WORLD?”

“Yes!” Jisoo blurted out, without thinking, then immediately realized he’d just dug a hole deep enough for him to live in. “Okay, no! But, like… maybe a little?”

Jeonghan, despite the fact that he was about to give birth to a small army, let out a groan that was more directed at Jisoo than the baby. “You’re lucky I’m in pain, or I’d get up and throttle you right now.”

“Alright, alright!” Seungcheol barked, taking command of the situation like a stressed-out captain. “We’re going to the hospital. MOVE IT, PEOPLE!”

In the ensuing frenzy, Jihoon grabbed Jeonghan’s hospital bag with the grace of someone carrying a bomb, Mingyu found his phone and started recording the entire disaster, and Soonyoung, who had somehow managed to put his jacket on backward, tried to help but just looked like a confused toddler.

As they scrambled to get Jeonghan out the door, Seokmin sighed deeply, muttering under his breath, “Of course. The one time I try to be romantic, this happens.”

Jisoo, now sulking like a child who didn’t get the toy he wanted, crossed his arms and whined, “This is what I mean when I say the universe is out to get me. It’s like I’m cursed.”

Jeonghan, hearing this, threw him a death glare. “You’re cursed? YOU THINK YOU’RE CURSED? I’M ABOUT TO PUSH OUT A WATERMELON SIZED BABY, JISOO! BUT SURE, LET’S ALL FEEL SORRY FOR YOU AND YOUR DUMB PROPOSAL!”

Jisoo rolled his eyes, muttering, “Drama queen,” under his breath as he followed the chaos out the door.

At the hospital, the madness continued. Jeonghan alternated between screaming at Seungcheol for “doing this to him” and berating Jisoo for being “the most selfish human alive.” Meanwhile, Mingyu was filming everything, muttering to Seokmin, “This is GOLD. I’m never deleting this.”

As Jeonghan was wheeled into the delivery room, he shot one last shaky finger at Seokmin. “You better propose soon, or Jisoo will haunt me for the rest of my life!”

Jisoo, looking defeated, sighed dramatically. “Don’t worry, Hannie, I’ll probably get proposed at someone else’s baby shower.”

Seokmin, now completely wiped out and ready to curl into a ball, rubbed his temples. “Can we PLEASE focus on getting Jeonghan through labor without anyone else starting a fight?”

The group nodded, but the chaos didn’t stop. Soonyoung snuck snacks into the delivery room like it was a secret mission, Mingyu commented on how great the lighting was for his video like he was auditioning for a reality show, and Jihoon argued with a nurse over the hospital’s blanket protocol, all while Seungcheol looked like he was about to pass out from stress.

Hours later, after Jeonghan finally delivered a healthy baby, the group gathered in the waiting room. Everyone was exhausted, but Jisoo, still sulking, leaned over to Seokmin with a smirk. “So… do I get my proposal now, or do we wait until the baby’s first birthday?”

Seokmin groaned but smiled, pulling the ring out again. “Jisoo, will you—”

“NOT HERE!” Jihoon snapped, his voice booming. “At least wait until we’re not in a hospital! Gosh.. I can't believe the same mother gave birth to this idiot.”

"He got his brother in law's braincells." Soonyoung puffed out his chest proudly.

Jisoo pouted but nodded. “Fine, fine. But the second we leave here, I’m getting my moment. Watch out, Jeonghan, you might have stolen my spotlight today, but I’ll get you back… someday.”

Seokmin, exhausted beyond belief, gave up and let Jisoo win. The drama continued, but at least it was finally, finally, over.
