Mingyu and Wonwoo’s wedding was an exquisite symphony of elegance and pandemonium, the kind of event that felt like it belonged in a romance novel. The upscale hall was transformed into a wonderland of white roses and twinkling fairy lights, their glow casting a dreamy haze over the sea of well-dressed guests. The air was perfumed with champagne and fresh blooms, punctuated by bursts of laughter and the clinking of glasses. Everyone seemed caught in a whirlwind of joy and anticipation.

Mingyu, tall and impossibly handsome, was the center of attention as he stood with his groomsmen—Seokmin, Soonyoung, and Seungcheol. His tailored suit fit him like a glove, and his signature mischievous grin was on full display. Despite the chaos surrounding him, he appeared unfazed, scribbling last-minute notes on his phone like the perfectionist he was. Next to him, Wonwoo was the epitome of calm, his sharp suit and quiet demeanor a striking contrast to Mingyu’s high-energy presence. Yet there was a softness in Wonwoo’s gaze as he scanned the room, his focus constantly drawn to Mingyu, as if the rest of the world had fallen away.

The ceremony was an emotional rollercoaster. Mingyu, known for being a jokester, had tears streaming down his face as he vowed to love Wonwoo forever, while Wonwoo’s steady voice cracked with emotion as he promised to keep Mingyu grounded but free. By the time they exchanged rings, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Even Seungcheol, who prided himself on his stoicism, was discreetly dabbing at his eyes with the corner of his tie.

But once the vows were done and the newlyweds shared their kiss, the elegance of the evening gave way to absolute chaos.

It began with Soonyoung. The moment the reception started, he commandeered the microphone, announcing a dance-off between the grooms and their respective teams. Mingyu, ever the competitor, grabbed Soonyoung, Seokmin and Seungcheol, declaring, “Team Mingyu is undefeated!” Wonwoo, shaking his head but smiling, calmly called over Jihoon, Jisoo and Jeonghan. What ensued was a blur of questionable dance moves, loud cheers, and Dino and Sunoo trying—and failing—to do the splits.

Amidst the mayhem, Seokmin found himself cornered by Soonyoung, who had clearly taken it upon himself to play Cupid. “Seokmin,” he began, slinging an arm around his friend’s shoulders, “you’ve been staring at Jisoo like he’s the last piece of cake at a party. What’s stopping you?”

Seokmin groaned, running a hand through his hair. “It’s not that simple, Soonyoung.”

“Oh, come on!” Soonyoung exclaimed, drawing the attention of nearby guests. “You’re letting your brain get in the way of your heart. Jisoo loves you, and you love him. Just propose already!”

Seungcheol, passing by with a glass of whiskey, overheard and chimed in. “Seriously, man. You’re embarrassing yourself. You’ve got the ring, right? Use it.”

Before Seokmin could respond, Mingyu appeared, a glass of champagne in hand. “You guys are so loud, the entire wedding can hear you,” he said with a grin, then added, “but they’re not wrong, Seokmin. You’re overthinking it. Jisoo’s not going anywhere.”

Seokmin looked helplessly between them, his heart pounding. The noise of the reception seemed to fade as he glanced across the room at Jisoo, who was laughing with Jeonghan and cradling a champagne flute. He looked radiant, his soft smile lighting up the room in a way that made Seokmin’s chest ache.

“Fine,” Seokmin muttered under his breath, his resolve hardening. “I’ll do it. But not tonight.”

Soonyoung clapped him on the back, nearly sending him stumbling. “That’s the spirit! But if you chicken out, I’m proposing to Jisoo for you.”

As the evening progressed, the chaos only intensified. Jihoon was dragged onto the dance floor by their two kids, while Jeonghan, hormonal and unpredictable in his pregnancy, berated Seungcheol for stepping on his shoes. Mingyu and Wonwoo, the stars of the night, attempted to cut the towering wedding cake, but Soonyoung “accidentally” shoved Mingyu, causing the knife to go flying and the crowd to erupt into laughter.

Through it all, Seokmin found himself gravitating toward Jisoo. As they stood together by the dessert table, Jisoo turned to him with a soft smile. “This wedding is beautiful, isn’t it?”

“Yeah,” Seokmin said, his voice unusually quiet. “It really is.”

Jisoo tilted his head, studying Seokmin. “You okay? You’ve been quiet all night.”

“I’m fine,” Seokmin replied, but his heart was racing. He wanted to tell Jisoo everything—to promise him a future, to ask for his forever—but the words stuck in his throat.

Instead, he reached out, his fingers brushing against Jisoo’s. The touch was brief, almost hesitant, but it said more than words ever could.

As the night wore on, the reception grew wilder. Mingyu and Wonwoo shared their first dance, followed by a group dance that ended with Soonyoung and Dino accidentally breaking a centerpiece. But for Seokmin, the real highlight wasn’t the chaos—it was the quiet moments he shared with Jisoo, moments that reminded him that love wasn’t about perfection. It was about showing up, even when things got messy.

And as he watched Mingyu and Wonwoo steal a kiss under the fairy lights, Seokmin made a silent vow to himself. Soon, he’d take the leap. It was time to embrace the chaos and the love that came with it.
