As soon as Seokmin pulled out the velvet box, Jisoo’s eyes went wide, his mouth dropping open in an exaggerated gasp. His hands flew to his face as if he'd just seen a ghost. “Oh my GOD,” he gasped, stumbling backward, dramatically clutching his chest like a Victorian heroine fainting at a ball. “I… I can’t breathe. This is... this is IT!”
The entire room went silent, watching Jisoo as if he were a performance piece in an art gallery.
“You didn’t,” Jisoo continued, holding his hand up as if he were being struck by the world’s most dazzling revelation. “I never thought, in a thousand years, that I would be proposed to tonight of all nights! After the chaos, the birth, the labor, the drama of Jeonghan almost sending us all into a panic—this? This is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever witnessed.”
“So this is what it’s like to be in a soap opera,” Jihoon murmured, rolling his eyes and crossing his arms.
“NO, Jihoon,” Jisoo snapped, dramatically swiping a hand through his hair. “This isn’t just a soap opera. This is the pinnacle of drama. This is Shakespearean!”
Mingyu, with his camera still in hand, raised an eyebrow. “Are you sure? Because it feels more like a reality show with all the screaming and fainting.”
“How dare you!” Jisoo screeched, throwing his arms out like a diva in the spotlight. “I’m being proposed to, not crucified, Mingyu. There’s a difference!”
Seokmin, trying to stay composed, cleared his throat and continued, “Jisoo, will you—”
“Oh, I WILL!” Jisoo exclaimed, now spinning in circles like a windmill caught in a storm. “Seokmin, you have truly outdone yourself! I never thought I would live to see this day, where I would be proposed to amidst a baby delivery, no less! This is the most dramatic day of my entire existence!”
“You’re the only one who’s dramatic, Jisoo,” Soonyoung said, raising an eyebrow as he looked around the room. “I mean, really? You’ve been overacting for the last hour, and we’ve just been watching it all like it’s some kind of Broadway show.”
"Says who..." Jihoon rolled his eyes.
“I’m living for this, honestly,” Mingyu chimed in, filming the whole thing. “This is peak entertainment. I’m making sure to save this clip for the wedding montage.”
Jisoo narrowed his eyes at Mingyu, his voice suddenly dropping into a mock serious tone. “Don’t you dare put this in my wedding montage, Mingyu. I’ll haunt you from the afterlife.” He threw his hands into the air again, ignoring Mingyu’s amused grin. “Do you all understand the gravity of this moment? I’m being proposed to on a night filled with chaos, a new baby being born, and people practically pushing me into a wedding! This is fate.”
Seokmin, trying to hold in his laughter, placed the velvet box in Jisoo’s hands. “Jisoo… will you marry me?”
“I mean…” Jisoo’s hands trembled dramatically as he held the ring up, squinting at it like it was the last diamond on Earth. “What other choice do I have? You’ve cornered me, Seokmin. You know, I’ve dreamed of this moment since I was a child. I thought I’d get proposed to in a beautiful garden, maybe at a grand event, but now? Here we are, in the aftermath of Jeonghan's labor pains, and I’m getting the most unexpected proposal in history. The drama, the emotions, it’s all just… too much!”
Seokmin grinned, thoroughly amused by Jisoo’s antics. “So, is that a yes?”
Jisoo gasped, looking at him as if he’d just asked the most impossible question in the universe. “Is that a YES?!” he echoed, clutching his chest in mock shock. “Of course it’s a yes! How could I ever resist? Who else would put up with my dramatic self and my chaotic existence? You’re the brave soul who has chosen me, and I shall forever be your fabulous partner!”
“Yeah, well, good luck, Seokmin,” Soonyoung said, grinning as he clapped Seokmin on the back. “Jisoo’s dramatic side is only getting started. Get ready for a lifetime of theatrical moments.”
Jihoon laughed. “Yeah, Jisoo, I hope you’ve already memorized your lines. You're gonna need 'em.”
Mingyu, finally putting his phone down, sighed dramatically. “Well, if you’re both going to be this dramatic for the rest of your life, I might as well start preparing for the world’s most over-the-top wedding.”
Jisoo, still caught in his dramatic flair, shot them all a wink. “Prepare yourselves. The drama has just begun.”
