In the parking area, Haoxuan looked at Zhou Fei with a puzzled expression as she unlocked the car.
"I honestly thought earlier, when you found out that Yibo was at his office and you insisted on coming here, that you were ready to charge into battle. But then, you turned into this timid little lamb in front of Yibo and Zhan."
" Stop it, Haoxuan!" Zhou Fei shouted as she got into the car. Haoxuan walked around to the passenger side and got in. "Yibo isn't the type of person you can win over with a temper. When we talked earlier, I was sure that nothing would happen if I got angry and shouted. I tried tears. Maybe that would work with him. He looked remorseful." She started the car's engine and drove out of the parking lot.
" I'm curious about you, cousin," he said. "Why do you still have to stir things up for Yibo? He's already married. It's your fault that he ended up marrying someone else. Why don't we just return to Paris and forget about him? Anyway, you've got plenty of guys to keep you entertained there, right?" He laughed knowing that Zhou Fei had never been once faithful to Yibo.
She clenched her jaw while steering the car onto the main road. "Someone like Yibo shouldn't be let go, Haoxuan. I underestimated him. I thought I could make him follow every desire of mine because his parents treated me like family. I knew they had always wanted a daughter, and I was to them. But I was wrong."
"Obviously."
"And Dad was totally embarrassed, I was also embarrassed in front of our friends and the employees who knew about us. Just imagine, he ditched me for a regular employee!" she raged.
"So, what's your plan now? Why do we need to go to Yibo's penthouse tonight?"
"I will get him back, Haoxuan boy! I can do that. And I need to do that. I need Yibo so that Dad can stay in the company. It's his only way to make a living, especially with his gambling habits. What I earn is still not enough even for myself."
Haoxuan rolled his eyes. "Because with your flashy style, Zhou Fei. You are spending money like it's water, and you have a well that's overflowing. With your income, you really don't need Yibo, to be honest."
"Well, you're wrong, I want him! I won't stay young forever. Sooner or later, someone younger... someone more beautiful will take my place. That's how it works in the world I live in. You know that!"
"Oh, eh, Well, if that's the case, you wouldn't have taken the offer in Paris. You could've been enjoying a life of luxury by now, and once those wrinkles start appearing, you wouldn't even need to work." He sighed. "You wanted the best of both worlds, cousin."
"Don't blame me anymore, or else you might upset me, and you won't get the fifty thousand you're asking from me."
He raised his hands in the air. "Okay... okay. So, what do you plan for us to do?"
"Listen," Zhou Fei said, flashing a meaningful smile as he stared at him in a way that made him feel like he wanted to shrink. But he couldn't say no to his cousin. He owed her a lot, in a way.
His Uncle Guangshan and Zhou Fie were his last remaining relatives. He also loved working as Zhou Fei's assistant. It allowed him to travel to various places around the globe without any hassle, plus he earned a pretty good salary from her.
