Falling In Place 24 - Family

A/N The grand finale. Finally I can say that I finished my book. :D I feel so proud right now. I'm extremely thankful for those who read it and to those who voted or commented, you are the BEST. Enough of me and more of the story...

I present to you chapter 24

Tyler's POV

I listened everything that was said keenly. Finally hearing the reason why I never grew up with my brother. Finally meeting my mother.

I looked around the room, I saw that Taylor was pissed and Jessica face was emotionless.

After hearing everything I still haven't gotten a reason for her never meeting me. I figured that she didn't let me meet Shane because didn't want him to know about any of this but believe that Greg was his father.

But why didn't she meet me???

I  looked at their expectant face and was about to say something but Taylor beat me to it.

"Why isn't Shane here?" He asked and I saw Jessica's face crumbled.

I never had the chance to talk to Taylor about this

"He's dead" Jessica said has she tried to hold her emotionless composure.

Now was is turn to look shock.

"That's what I had to talk to you about" I said quietly "Jessica came to visit me and told me everything"

"That night I waited up to tell you" I said getting angry "But you decided to be a little bitch" I added.

Taylor's face fell and I could tell this was hard for him to hear even though he only knew Shane for a short period. They were still brothers.

"How did he die?" Taylor asked Jessica and this caused her to break down crying.

I wasn't surprised by her reaction as I already knew how he died.

"A truck came out of nowhere and hit the car we were in while we were on our way home from a concert that we sneaked out to go because it was birthday" She said looking into space as if she was recalling the events of that night.

"He died and I was barely hurt" She said sadly

Taylor turned to our dad.

"You knew didn't you?" He said "You knew and you didn't even think to tell us" He sneered.

"He didn't know until we saw each other a couple months ago" Karen defended him

Jessica chuckled humorlessly causing everyone to look at her.

"Something both my parents have in common" She said confusing me. "Both of you didn't know about the death of you son until long after his death"

"What are you talking about?" I asked confused.

"Why don't you tell them mom?" She sneered "Tell them how you told that hospital that you were too busy to come and see your dying son and please don't forget the fact that the hospital couldn't get in contact with you for a whole week after his death" She glared at her mom who held her head down in shame.

The little bit of information caused me to because pissed.

"Karen must have had her reasons" Dad said trying to defend her "She loved Shane"

"Not enough" I said "I guess Shane had it worse than I did" I added

"I'd rather not know my mom than to have one that doesn't give a shit about me" I scoffed.

"Imagining having both your parents like that" Jessica mumbled.

"You both deserve each other" Taylor piped up "We'll be leaving now" He added getting up and walking towards the door.

"Please don't go" Karen begged

"Jessica are you coming with us?" I asked ignoring 'mom'

She shook my head.

Jessica's POV

"No, this house and everything in it is mine" I informed him before turning to our parents "My eighteen birthday is in three days, by then you should be gone" I added before walking to my room as Taylor and Tyler, my brothers left.

It was now the day of my eighteen birthday and as expected my mom was gone. After much begging and crying she realized I was serious and complied to my wishes. Some may call me ungrateful but I really am not. I wouldn't have done that if I knew she didn't have anywhere to go.

She could always move in with her fiance or to the house which she stayed most of the time anyways.

'My dad', Greg, called as well and he told me everything mom told me already. I wasn't planning to shut him out like I did my mom but I wasn't planning on mending our relationship either.

As for me and my brothers, We've been spending time together for the last two days. Tyler was rather easy to get along with, he reminded me a lot of Shane, which shouldn't be surprising since they were twins and all.

Taylor, on the other hand, was still a pain in my ass but we got along when necessary which was often now since he and Kaylor decided to give it a go.

"Jessica would you hurry the hell up" Taylor shouted at me from downstairs.

We were going to SkateVille for my birthday. By we, I meant Dennis, Malik, Jordan, Jacob, Taylor, Kaylor, Marcus, Christina, Tyler and of course the birthday girl, meeeee.

"I can take as long as I want Jerkpid" I shouted back "I'm the birthday girl!!!" I screamed as I slide down the stairs.

"Unless the birthday girl wants to spend her 18th birthday at home" He shot back "She can't"

"Shut up asshole" I piped up "I ain't even driving with you, Jacob is driving me"

Before you get any ideas, Jacob and I aren't an item, I just get along with him more than anyone else in their stupid group.

"You're driving Kaylor" I said then made kissy faces.

"You're an annoying pain in my ass" He countered before stalking outside to where everybody else was waiting.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSY!!!" The boys said before tackling me into a group hug. That's all the boys except Jacob who came over after I managed to escape.

"Happy Birthday" He whispered in my ears after he pulled me into a warm hug.

I smiled at him and the guys started making gagging noises in the background.

Stupid asses.

We got in our designated cars and made our way to SkateVille for the best day ever.

Now I can honestly say that life has gotten better.
