"Breathe in.
Out.
Again.
Breathe in.
Out."

"Soo..what's the verdict doc'?"

We had spent the last half hour doing the same repetitive tests over and over.
Breathe in.
Then out.
Then repeat.
The EMT had checked my vital signs five different times, asked us the same set of questions three times, and still seemed confused.
He just kept flipping and shuffling the papers he had over and over, continuously giving them a puzzled look.

"Everything is in tip top shape.
Your blood pressure is normal.
Your heart beat is perfectly fine.
You don't have any major injuries besides a minor laceration on your upper thigh.
However, your temperature is a little higher than normal. Approximately 99°, which isn't major"

There was a pause.

"Are you sure you got into a motorcycle accident?," he asked, throwing the clip board down as he crossed his arms.

"Yes, I'm sure. Soo...can I go home?"

I was starting to get really annoyed at this point.

After everything, all I want to do is collapse in my own bed and stay there for a couple years.

"Yep. However, the police will probably want to ask you some questions. But other than that you're home free"

"Ok. Night"

"Night. Drive safe!," he said with a light chuckle.

I think it was supposed to be a joke, but I didn't find it funny.

"Thanks"

I turned to go see Paris when suddenly I found myself in the warm embrace of a hug.

"Oof"

"I was worried sick about you"

"Cyan I'm fine"

"I see that NOW. I thought you were dead."

"Well if the accident doesn't kill me then I'm sure your death grip will," I said gasping for for air.

"Oh. Sorry," she muttered as she released me.

I took a minute to breath.

"So what happened to you?!?"

I saw Paris approaching us, giving me a worried expression.

"Umm. I'll tell you later. Right now I really need to check on Paris. She IS the one who almost died," I told Cyan.

"Fine," she muttered through pursed lips.

As she turned to go I could tell she was pissed off.
Whenever Cyan is angry with me, she gives me the silent "it's whatever" routine.

Whatever, I have bigger issues right now.

"Paris!," I called out.

"Yeah!"

"What's up?," I asked as I jogged over to her.
"Is everything okay?"

"I really need to show you something," she said looking around at everything and everyone but me.

"Umm... sure. What is it?"

"It's not something I can exactly tell you"

"What do you mean?"

"Just trust me, okay?," she told me a little annoyed now.

"Uhhh. Yeah. Sure. Fine. Let's go," I said clapping my hands together.

"Great. Follow me"

We had to jump the guard rail to get back into the woods to where ever Paris was leading me too.
Where was she taking me?
And why?
