I woke up from a night of sound sleep. That was the first in a few nights.
I then remembered the person sleeping next to me. Charlie. He had his arms around me, one around my waist, the other around my shoulders. My head was laying against his chest and our legs were intertwined.
I lifted my head and twisted to look at my alarm clock. It was 6:30am. Phew, I thought, my internal alarm clock still works.
I tried to pry myself out of Charlie's grip, but he just tightened it.
"Anna," he whined in his sleepy voice.
"Charlie, its 6:30 and we have school today. We have to get ready," I said pulling him up.
"Girls take longer to get ready though," he complained.
"Fine. But when I'm done changing, you are getting up," I replied.
I slipped out of Charlie's grip and picked out my outfit for the day. White short shorts, and a black tank top, that crisscrossed in the back. I slipped on a pair of blue Converse shoes.
I went into the bathroom, looking at my hair. It was in a natural wave from my shower last night, so I decided to straighten it.
I came back out into my room, and looked at Charlie. He was laying on his stomach, his arms laying over his head. Aww, he looks so cute!, I thought. I quietly pulled out my phone and snapped a picture of him.
I continued getting ready, by grabbing a pair of sunglasses, and one of my fedoras.
I sat down on my bed next to Charlie. "Charlie, you have to get up now," I said.
"Five more minutes," he groaned.
"We are leaving in 15 minutes. You have to get up now," I told him.
"Five more minutes," he repeated.
"I'll make you breakfast," I bargained.
"Breakfast?" Charlie perked up. "What kind of breakfast?"
"If you aren't downstairs in five minutes, you won't know," I replied, walking out of the room.
I heard Charlie groan, and then shuffling around, at which I smirked.
I looked around the kitchen for breakfast, finally deciding on Eggo waffles. I shoved four into our double toaster. To pass time, I started taking out the plates and syrup. I avoided the top of the syrup bottle so I wouldn't be sticky.
As the waffles popped up, Charlie came downstairs wearing one of Ben's white Beatles t-shirts and a pair of dark blue basketball shorts.
Charlie still looked half-asleep, so I just set two waffles in front of him, and sat down opposite him with my two waffles.
We ate in silence. I finished before Charlie, so I went upstairs to brush my teeth. I set an unused toothbrush on the counter for Charlie.
I walked back into my closet, and grabbed clothes for practice, kneeling down to stuff them into my bag.
When I stood up, I saw Charlie coming towards me from the bathroom. I didn't move, and he stopped until he was standing in front of me.
Charlie leaned down and pecked my lips. "Good morning," he greeted.
I suppressed a laugh as I answered, "Morning."
"Sorry about myself this morning, I'm not exactly a morning person," he explained.
