Thursday came and went, and then it was Friday. My alarm clock woke me up that morning, as usual. I got dressed. I wore white short shorts with a thin brown belt, along with a half-sleeved vertical blue and white striped button up from Hollister. I left the first few buttons undone, so it wasn't so constricting. I put on a pair of brown sandals. I straightened my hair, and wore my signature fedora hat and sunglasses that matched my outfit.
I gathered all my bags together, school and soccer ones, and headed downstairs, dropping my bags off by the door.
I headed into the quiet kitchen, seeing as my dad was still sleeping. He had talked to the principal the day before, and wasn't coming back to school until Monday.
I made myself breakfast, which consisted of a bowl of Lucky Charms and a banana. Once finished I went back upstairs and brushed my teeth. Coming back downstairs, I grabbed a small sticky note and pen off the kitchen table and wrote my father a note:
Dad,
I'm off to school. I'll come back after school to pick you up for the soccer game. Be ready for me at 3:10 since I'll be leaving as soon as possible to pick you up and then come straight back for the game. I know the games at 4:30 but I want to be prepared and I told the boys to be in the locker room at 3:45. I'll see you later. Text me if you need anything.
Love you,
Anna.
I stuck the note on the handle of the fridge, knowing that would be the first place he would go when he woke up. I walked out of the room and picked up my bags, heading towards the car. I got in, started the car, and drove off to school.
Once at school and parked, I headed over to the tree where I saw Alex, Henry, Ben, and Charlie all talking together. The rest of the team was there too. They were all wearing their uniform shirts. Looking around at the rest of the school body, there were a lot of people dressed for the game. Face paint, bandannas, school logos everywhere, different colored socks and tights for the girls, and some guys were already showing off their painted chests. I shook my head, smiling at how everyone was excited for the game.
As I made my way towards the four boys, I got an idea. I started jogging towards Charlie's back, and jumped on him, wrapping my arms around his neck, and my legs his waist. He stumbled for a second, but then caught himself. His hands automatically went underneath my thighs, holding me up.
"Hello boys," I greeted.
"Hey Anna," the boys chorused.
"Are you comfortable up there Anna?" Charlie smirked.
"Very. Thanks for your concern," I replied.
"And what if I'm not very comfortable with you on my back?" Charlie questioned.
"Deal with it," I retorted.
"She did this to me a couple days ago dude. I'm pretty sure she only cares about her own comfort," Ben joked.
"At least you're not the one who still has to get slapped!" Alex interrupted.
"You haven't slapped him yet!?" I asked Henry in disbelief.
"Nope. I'm waiting for the perfect opportunity," Henry smirked.
Alex groaned. Everyone laughed at that. The boys went back to talking, while I was just listening, as was Charlie.
"Can you come tomorrow for dinner Charlie?" I whispered in his ear.
He nodded. "My mom said it was fine, and to say you're welcome for the Chinese," he whispered back.
