I woke up to the sound of steady beeping.

I slowly opened my eyes, blinking at the blinding light. I looked around, seeing a normal hospital room.

To my left was an occupied chair, the body leaning over; their elbows resting on their knees and their head bowed.

"D-Dad," I croaked, my throat sore.

He looked up, his eyes wide open.

"Anna! You- You're finally awake!" My father exclaimed.

"How long was I out?" I asked hoarsely.

"Three days," he answered.

"Oh. Can I have some water?"

"Let me get a nurse first."

I nodded. My father left, and I gave myself a mental once over.

I had a pounding headache. I could feel a tight bandage around my head. Every time I breathed in, my abdomen hurt. My jaw and eye were sore. My legs just had a few bruises. But my left ankle though, had a temporary cast surrounding it.

I wracked my brain, trying to remember what happened. The last thing I remember was being at the soccer game with Haley and her two friends, watching the start of the game.

The door opened and my father returned, along with a familiar doctor.

"Hello Anna," Dr. Manning greeted.

"Hey Doc," I hoarsely replied. My father sat down in the chair next to my bed.

"How're you feeling?" He asked, coming to stand at the foot of my bed.

"My jaw and eye are sore, it hurts to breathe, and I have a massive headache. And my ankle hurts too," I answered.

"That's completely normal. You've got a mild concussion. You have a few cracked ribs. You also got hit in the jaw and eye, which explains why they're sore. And somehow, you broke your ankle," Dr. Manning explained.

"What happened? The most I remember is sitting with Haley and watching the start of the game," I said.

"That, is not my place to tell," the doctor answered. "I'll come back later to see how you're doing." And then he left.

I turned to my father. "What happened?"

"Do you remember what happened before the game, during announcements?" My father asked stiffly.

I was hoping he wouldn't ask me about that. "Yes," I replied truthfully.

My father stood up.

"Dad-"

"No Anna. You knew it was wrong, and yet you still went behind my back. You didn't even try to tell me and change my mind," he told me.

"Are you mad?" I questioned.

"A little. But I'm mostly disappointed in you."

I said nothing as he walked out of the room.

I closed my eyes. A minute later, I heard the door open and footsteps. I cracked open my eyes to see five people in my room.

"Hey guys," I croaked.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" Haley cried, coming over to me to give me a hug, careful of my injuries.

"Haley, it's fine, it's not your fault," I honestly told her.

"But I feel horrible! I should of stopped Heather!"

"Don't. Wait- Heather? What happened?"

"You don't remember?" Haley exclaimed.

"Why would she ask if she did?" Henry smirked.
