After an hour and a half o bowling and eating 5 pizzas, Alex pulled the truck into the Walmart parking lot. We always went to this specific Wal-Mart, because they were the only ones who carried non-stainable silly string.
We all jumped out and ran inside. Charlie followed me, since he didn't know what was going on.
"What are we doing?" Charlie asked me, running with me around Wal-Mart.
"We need to find stuff." I said vaguely.
"What kind of stuff?" Charlie questioned.
"Definitely silly string. And anything else that you can use to get somebody down." I explained.
"Why don't we get some water balloons and then fill them with stuff?" Charlie asked.
"Awesome idea. Oh bye the way Charlie, this is every man for themselves, so I'll see you back at Alex's truck in exactly a half hour! Last one to the truck gets a penalty!" I called out, sprinting ahead of him.
"What? Anna! Wait!" He cried out. Sorry Charlie, I thought, gotta get my things.
I found the silly string. I grabbed 5 bottles, not knowing how much we would use. I could always give one to Charlie for abandoning him. I kept looking up and down the kiddie aisles.
I went back to the silly string aisle and grabbed two more cans. Better be safe than sorry, I thought. I checked the time. I had 10 minutes to get back to the truck. I might make it. I'm in trouble.
I sprinted to the checkout lanes, looking for an empty one. Luckily there was an open one and it looked like a teenager. Good.
I got in the line and dumped my contents onto the conveyor belt.
"Can you please go as fast as you can? I might be late for something and that would be horrible." I explained.
The teenage girl nodded. "Of course. I'll go as fast as I can." She said.
"Thank you so much!" I exclaimed. She was done in less than five minutes.
"Oh my gosh thank you so much, keep the change!" I said, giving her $30.
I sprinted out of the store and made it to Alex's truck right in time. I didn't see Charlie, Henry or Craig, so I wasn't last. That was good. Everyone else was sitting in the back of the truck, holding their weapons. I saw Henry and Craig run out of the store together and got into the truck with everyone else.
"Charlie's not out here. He's got the penalty. Poor newbie," Alex said, with everyone chuckling at the last part.
Charlie came out shortly after Henry and Craig did.
"Last one out?" He asked.
Everyone nodded.
"Figured. Anna ditched me." He stated. I stuck my tongue out at him.
"Girls, girls you're both pretty, stop your fighting." Henry joked. We all laughed.
"Okay. We need to explain the rules, for newbie over here," Alex said jokingly.
"Rule 1: Every man for himself.
Rule 2: Only item able to be used is unstainable silly string, so nobody's clothes get stained. Rule 3: Everyone gets 20 minutes to hide their stash, and nobody can take away from your stash. Rule 4: Whoever is hit with something, whatever it may be, must give their ammo to the person who got them out, and then sit by the truck, waiting for the game to end. Rule 5: Last person standing clean wins." Alex explained. Everyone nodded in agreement and piled into the truck.
Alex drove us to an empty corn field that has a forest next to it.
Everyone ran away to find a hiding place. I went to the forest and found a good climbing tree. I climbed up and put my silly string up there.
I climbed down and headed back to the truck, with 5 minutes to spare. Mostly everyone was there, except for Eric and Mike.
Alex kept looking at his phone to check the times to see when they would be late.
With a minute left, they both cam back.
"Minute left," Alex scolded.
"Eh, we aren't the ones with the penalty," Eric replied.
"What is my penalty?" Charlie piped up.
"You'll find out," I said vaguely.
"Great," his reply was dripping with sarcasm.
"Okay since everyone's back, lets start. Everyone go to your hideout places and I'll send out a massive text to start the game. Once your out, text everyone to let them know." Alex explained. Everyone nodded and ran to their positions.
I felt my phone vibrate and figured it was Alex. I checked just to make sure. It was.
Game on.
