With each fastening she undid, she kept her focus on Aegon whose eyes did not leave her. There was something deeply intimate about this exchange even though he only watched. As she slid the leather from her shoulders, she could feel the air through the light undershirt that hung loosely now off her upper half.

She was standing again, taking her time to lift the bottom of the fabric up and expose what he was looking for. The scar was still pink, stretching from under her breast down to her hip. Aegon's eyes were fixated on the mark for a short while before he reached up to gently trace the length of it with his fingers.

Viserra closed her eyes, allowing herself a moment to enjoy the feeling of his touch. But the soft press of lips right on the scar caused her to draw in a sharp breath. The touch was still light, but the reaction it brought to her was anything but. She looked down to him to find he was looking at her now, his eyes betraying him that moment.

No slower than she had done for herself, Viserra began working at freeing him from his own doublet. The fabric slid from his shoulders and he shrugged off the rest while her hands traced the healed scars on him she had not seen before.

As he looked to her, she was surprised to see tears caught in the corners of his eyes. Her brow furrowed at the display of insecurity, wanting to assure him she was not horrified by his appearance. "It does not bother me," she reassured.

Aegon met her eyes. "That is difficult to believe," he disagreed. "Something has changed between us since those nights spent together before this happened." He gestured to the half of him that was marred.

Of course it had, she thought. But it had nothing to do with his appearance. "Do you not think that is true because so much has happened since then?" She proposed.

But all he only offered her silence.

"We both were different people back then, unaware that it could and would get much worse for all of us," she continued with reassurance. "Have you not changed at all since sharing that tent with me just days before you were burned?"

He met her eyes again. "How could I have not?"

"It would be foolish to think either of us had not changed," she affirmed. "But differences here should not be looked at as if it is a fault."

Viserra ran her hands down his arms before taking his own and guiding them under the thin fabric of her undershirt. The moment his skin made contact with hers again, she could feel him reconnect with her as he had just moments before.

Aegon's hands continued on their own, tracing the curves of her hips and waist and running his fingers up the dip of her spine. The distance between them did not seem so great as soon as he felt sure she meant each word she said.

The unshed tears still brimmed in his eyes as he carefully lifted the undershirt over her head, tossing it to the floor. He pulled her closer, bringing her onto his lap and wasted no time in letting his mouth place hungry kisses on her skin.

Taking her breast into his mouth, he listened to her release the air from her lungs. Aegon's confidence only grew with the way she sighed as if her body was relieved by the touch. Suddenly, he shifted their dynamic, taking a hold on her and placing her on her back.

As he locked onto her gaze, he was met with the familiar look that showed she trusted him there. Mirroring her smile briefly, he redirected his attention to the lower half of her still clothed body. Quickly working Viserra free from her pants, his eyes swept across her as she finally laid there bare before him.

Aegon lowered himself to meet her lips as her hands moved through his hair. Each minute that passed was spent carefully rediscovering what was once familiar. His hands roamed over her in a way that showed he did not forget.
