Miracolo's POV
Mom and Dad fuss over Papa, getting ready for the giant Sterling Family baby shower.
"I am ready!" Papa sighs exasperated. "Let's just go!"
"Babycakes." Dad sighs softly, stroking Papa's cheek. "I just want to make sure you're going to be comfortable."
"I will be as comfortable as I can be until Nicholas decides to show up!" Papa growls, annoyed at his Mates.
"Hey, now." Mom chuckles, patting his shoulder gently. "No need for growling."
"Sorry, Darling." Papa sighs, hanging his head. "I'm just so tired."
"I know." Mom smiles at him. They move to put Papa's shoes on for him. "You're always tired toward the end of the pregnancy."
"I'm still surprised that it's Dennis this time, instead of Parker." Dad laughs, gathering the things he needs for Dad to be comfortable while we're out of the house..
"Right?" Papa laughs as Mom finishes tying his shoes. "Though Parker's had multiple sets of pups. First the twins, then the triplets."
"I heard that Andrew is pregnant again too." Mom laughs, standing up and stretching their back.
"Savvie!" Dad calls down the hall. "Let's go!"
"I'm coming!" Savannah shouts. "Jeez." She says, stomping down the hallway.
I just chuckle at our family dynamic. Most families have two parents, we have three. Savvie and I have heard our parents' Mating story many times. It was tumultuous and they went through a lot. But ultimately, they are happy now.
"When are you going to find your Mate?" Savvie asks as she puts on her shoes.
"When they present themselves. Why?" I cock an eyebrow at her.
"I want your room." She shrugs. "It's bigger."
"Well, you'll have to wait, Princess." I laugh softly. I'm in no particular hurry to find my Mate. I'm only twenty three. Plus, I've got a boyfriend that keeps me company when I feel lonely.
"Alright, let's go." Mom says, ushering us all to the door.
We pile in the family SUV and drive over to Dennis and Parker's house. The lawn has been spray-painted with parking stalls for the guests, and we make our way to the back lawn.
"Hey!" Parker greets us. "Glad you could make it!"
"Wouldn't miss it, Park." Papa hugs his friend.
"How are you doing, Taylor? The new house easier on the joints?" Parker asks Mom with concern in his eyes.
"Much, thank you." Mom smiles at him. "I thought Turning would take that away, but it seems to only have lessened it." They frown.
"Hey, don't feel down, Dear." Dad wraps an arm around them. "Before you, I don't know that there have been any Wolves that go dormant and develop human conditions, and then turn back."
"Come on." Parker chuckles. "Pops is about to start his speech."
We follow Parker to our table and I can't help but smell something wonderful in the area. I can't pinpoint what it is, so I let it go.
"Alright, everyone!" Samuel's voice booms out over the sound system. "Thank you all for coming to our large, multi-baby, baby shower!" We all cheer. "Can we have all the pregnant people of the Sterling Family onstage please?"
We all cheer as we watch the group of Wolves gather onstage.
"A round of congratulations for all these amazing Wolves, please!" Samuel cheers, kissing his husband.
